i was at the local drag strip this weekend and was talking to some guys up there about what was going on with my motor as they had not seen me in a while, as i would "run wind", meaning i would run anything or anyone.

while we were talking a local car importer brought out his R33 GTR and did some donuts (whooopie) and then put the smack down on all the local 12&13 sec Evo's and other transplants and hybrids (120y's w/ L28 tripple drafts , and type r's w/ turbo kits, 88 dihatsu charmants w/ rb25's etc, use your imagination, literally).:icesangel

the GTR was running great and posted 12.9-12.4's wonder what it'll take to trample all over that GTR with a CA18 :thinker

T3/T04E @ 24psi w/ strong bottom-end and good air/fuel/timing & Dyno tunning. i am hoping to run with these guys at least a 12.6 . scary thing is that the guy has a 100hp shot of N20 too if needed.. hmmmm.. i may need one too :D

any CA's on the board running similar times? and time slips and even better video??

dam i gotta finish my engine.

well the tuning is going to the best of the best down here, he is the country record holder, the caribbean record holder and i think in contention for the world record for a 4 cylinder turbo. Ryan "Smally" Garcia. 7.7 @ 174 in his 4G63 powered 84 lancer.

and it is going to be the 1st engine that he has ever built for anyone but himself.

but it is really hot downhere sometimes so tunning is going to be VERY conservative.. and the fuel is crap but i will not be using that piss too much, got a buddy who imports VP racing fuels so i'll suck up to him to get some good prices.

400hp on a CA19 isn't goin gto be very hard, you can get 300+ out of the stock internals, just boost the hell out of it. The fastest SR20's are running HKS GT3037's, so something a little bit smaller to go with the .1L less of displacement should suit you fine, and allow for 650+.

I've been into SR20's and CA18's for a while, and I've always wanted to make a monster SR20, with good tuning, like a TEC-III or some other stand-alone fuel management system will be required for most over 425hp.

It can be done, I figured my hypothetical 700hp+ SR20 would cost somewhere between $20k and $40k. It would still be streetable too, just back off the boost. LOTS of engine tuning, though, and that would be running 115octane race gas, and almost straight closed wastegates and around 35psi, if not more.

But if your willing to lay down the cash, and you beg me, I might let out my secret, though I'd really like to save it for after I build my TT S30Z, which is after me street CA18DET S13, and maybe after my R32 GTR, all depends on what I want to sink cash into. I've got 50 or more years of car building to do, so I'll have plenty of cars in my life :) HAHA!!!

I think they make like 10 different turbo kits in north america alone that'll give a Mk4 over 600rwhp.

there is a NIssan E15T (FWD 1.5 SOHC turbo) Sunny in trinidad that went 11.1 (beating a supra) and is a daily driver so i think that 1.8(1.9 CA or 2.0 SR) can run in the 11's and maybe even 10's if you had the money to spend on it.

i am not afraid of a 600 hp supra. at 500-550 hp i should be able to take them. half of the supra owners cant drive. the other half think they are better then anyone so barely race. my car is alot lighter then there car. oh i know they make turbo kits big deal. i am using a turbo from a supra on my ca18. my power band will shine froma roll or at a strip. who cares abotu track racing.
