**cliffnotes, under boost the car isnt making the kind of power it should, maybe runnning in limp mode or the knock sensor**

Well i finally got the car up and running, i thank everyone for their info and help, now despite the IACV ebing broken, she cranks over and willl run good, if not decent. The most recent issues ive come across is Once i hit boost and get the rpms up to 4k, the car feels as if its falling flat on its face, or not making enough power as it should.

I noticed this because i gave a 1st and 2nd gear pull against one of my freinds car, and i walked him but a few days later we go again and i could barely keep up

but back to the issue, it was mentioned to me by fabio240 that the knock sensor, could be causing teh car to run in limp mode when it gets under boost. I checked the ecu for codes and it thre 34 - 3greens 4 reds, which im told is the knock sensor. On top of that, the car is running extremely rich.

Secondly, after driving the car for 20-30minutes straight, my temp gauge starts to rise, im running coolant and water. It rises mainly when im in boost. On average the needle sits betweent eh 2nd and 3rd bar, then it will rise up to the 4th and 5th bars. I was told ther could be air in the system, and that fact that my radiator has 200k+ miles on it.

Granted ive only had the car running for a couple of weeks now, but i can tell the difference in the power from when it was running right to how its running now. I was also told that stock psi on the ca18 is 9? thats what im running now. any info to help me with the problem would be nice

Check the plugs out and see what they look like, that would tell you more about whether it is a sensor fault or an engine problem. Knocking and rich doesn't often go together IME unless your egts are getting wayyyy too high, which would mean your timing is off I guess? What type of boost control, if you have a bov venting to atmosphere, you could be tapping out the injectors and leaning under load but still end up rich coming off throttle. Oh you know what, try tightening your timing belt tensioner if the belt was just recently replaced and then do a proper timing check. Last, I would check injectors and then seals. If you have a compression tester hit your cylinders while your plugs are getting inspected just to see.

If you are asking for help you kinda answered your own question. Code 34= Knock sensor, which means you should probably check wiring of the sensor. If the wires are good, change the sensor.

Before you start diagnosing other things gets all fault codes dealt with.
