i have recently been given the opportunity to acquire a 240 with a ca18 with a cracked piston head. is this pretty easily fixable or is the engine just not quite the same afterwards? any help is appreciated

My concern would be what happened that cracked the piston head. I would assume it was just overheated.

Best case scenario-slap on another head and you're good to go.

Worse case scenario-some sort of internal damage has befallen the bottom end as well and the motor will need a full tearn down and rebuild.

Depending on the price it could still be worth it.

Piston head? I didnt know the piston had a head. But if its the piston then its a lot of work and money. If its the head, then its a lot of work and money. Overall very expensive and probably not worth it. I could be wrong, let us know whats up.

piston head = cylinder head. you can probably scrounge up a used head somewhere for not too much.
