Hey guys, I remember reading somewhere, that if you want to remove the Knock sensor, that you have to install a resistor in its place, to avoid the ECU from recieving error codes, or entering knock mode?

I've tried searching, but theres over 8 pages of results, just thought I'd see if anyone else remembered what Im talking about?

I need to do this in order to make the ECU run correctly on a different engine. We are installing the CA18 ECU and harness e.t.c. onto a Z18ET ( oldskool single cam turbo nissan engine ).and we assumed that the CA knock sensor would be "tuned/calibrated" to the characteristics of the CA.....so may not read correctly on a different engine. So think it would be more safe to just get rid of it.

There is a link in the sticky to download the FSM. The info you need is listed in there.

EDIT: Ok, I lied. It's not in there. I could swear it was, but I can't find it now.

EDIT 2: zerothread?id=127336

I rule at searching...
