So yeah anybody actually tried to use a ca16 starter on a rwd ca18det? Just wondering. i kow it has 9 teeth instead of ten. If not I am gonna try it since I have one laying around. So any input would be greatly appreciated.

youre better of using a pulsar 1.8 starter. Let us know if the ca16 starter works tho, ill add it to the inventory of parts that work, in my head that is (=

Indeed if it does work i will let everyone know. Like I said i just got it laying around and figure hey why not. As long as it doesn't break and the gear falls into the bell housing. That would make me sad.

I can't think of why it wouldn't work, but I won't make any promises....

Well I couldn't get it to line up. Though I gave up pretty easily. Will check today when I wake up.

I don't think either one will fit. As far as i know only RWD DE or DET starter will do .

Was it a bolt-on solution? Or does it require any mod? Haven't seen a pulsar starter to be honest, but the flywheel is smaller for the Pulsar and the starters all bolt to the same position so it is reasonable that a pulsar starter can't be used on a DET (?). Have you fitted an adapter or anything ?

Well Ca16 starter was a no go. The Pulsar starter I bought bolted right up but I cant find the damned plug that goes to the starter.
