I have a CA16DE ecu, with a JimWolf chip for 550cc injectors and Z32 maf.

What cam shafts should I be running? The host ecu was a CA16DE, so does that mean I require CA16DE cams? I dont want to mess around with tuning. Im doing a long block swap and want everything to run right. The longblock is a JDM CA18DET with Ca18det cams. Id prefer to keep them in as the motor is low kms, and has never been opened. The motor Im pulling out has a t28, and ca16de cams, but the motor is bagged and the rings are gone. I really dont want to pull the ca16de cams out of it to put in my fresh ca18det if I dont have to.

Can I get away with running the stock CA18DET cams with the above ecu?

Thanks!

I would be floored if the stock ECU couldn't handle the small gains the CA16 cams would yield. Do you have a wideband?

I don't want the gains.

I dont want to open my bagged motor to steal the ca16 cams. I'd rather leave the stock ca18det cams installed as the motor is stock with 50,000km. I don't want to d!ck around with cam gears and resetting stuff.

Especially since the gains are minimal with the stock turbo anyway.

If I Have to install the ca16 cams to run the motor properly then I will. But if I don't have to I'd rather leave the stock cams alone for now

OH! I misunderstood that. The opposite is still true. The ECU will have no issues dealing with the small drop in air flow. One of the nice things about a MAFS is they can handle changes like this and not need tuning.
