well the 16 has a 78mm bore so it should have a tiny combustion chamber and subsequently smaller valves. I have been told by people who should know that the early DE and DET heads were different castings from the later ones with smaller ports and the had different intakes, worse ones. I am not sure what casting you guys get in the states. If the throttle is aimed across the head it's an old one. I think the FWD variants had some with the newer head type.

the ca16 had smaller valves on both the inlet and exhaust.Thats about the only differences.

All ca16de engines had the manifold that goes over the top of the motor.

U11 ca18det fwd engines had the alternating inlet port sizes, the ports that have the injector are regular size, the others that are controlled by the tvis flaps are about 20%larger but the manifold is one of those over the top types and i dont think the regular log type inlet top half will bolt on.

The 1987.9 onwards ca18de/det came in 3 castings. I cant remember the numbers stamped on the block but there is are:- fwd ca18de n/a u12 bluebird/stanza/pintara head,

-the ca18det u12 awd bluebird/s13 n/a and turbo head,

-and the 4 port euro(de/det)/jap import fwd n/a only u12 head (a few came to new zealand)

The 4 port has bigger inlet area, but sacrifices low down torque as it doen not have the tvis -or whatever you want to call it

im actually a she LOL

but, ive never indicated that in the past so its an honest mistake

ive seen the smaller valves in a 16 head and the small combustion chamberbut i spose if you were desparate for a 'hard' cylinder head you could start with a 16 and get it machined ..as in chambers and to take larger valves.

they do have that funny little attachement at the rear with a stell pipe fitted.

thanx for the all the details given

Arh k, that's alright then

On my local West Austalian forum, we have heaps of girls on board.. one is racing her S15, another is the top female drift driver in our state.. and heaps of others are in for show and shine..

I think it's great when they do get up and have a go, cause most of the time they always kick ***, and usually beat the guys ! it's cool as.. And the winnie the pooh..hmm.. i rekon he's just blaming his wife for it, i bet 10 bucks he really loves driving in that car

I drove it yesterday, Pooh don't phase me, I had a pink Skyline! Pooh is a little girly though, if it were mine I would go with something more manly, Pokemon I think.

As far as female car enthusiasts, it is only cool because there are not so many. I see a lot of this "girls can't drive" BS over here, it's stupid. A female coworker actually said to me "I can't drive a manual, I'm a girl" WTF? that started me wondering whether girls were missing a bone in there left leg that prevented them from depressing a clutch pedal or something, very sad that that mindset exists. My wife is a black widow at the stoplight, she smoked an 82' Vette with her 4Ag 20-valve. She don't play games, can't beat daddy though, I taught her most of her tricks
