As far as I know I would say yes, pretty sure the DIS setup is the same for both.

Ya I was thinking it might because they are both four cylinders, unlike the rb series which are not a crossover for a ca18.

If any has some helpful input to share, please come forth!

I am planning on purchasing a new CAS and I've found one for a ca16 which is only $150 new, much cheaper than a ca18 which is around $400! :(

Parts catalog says "Yes.". CA16DE's use it as well. As for whether *ALL* CA16DE's use it, can't tell, but I don't see why it would be different. Ask for pics of a part number on it, before purchasing, and you can make sure.
(Also, don't be fooled by all the "CA18ET"s next to 200SX S13s, it's a 'mistake' in the catalog.)

Alibaba? I'd rather buy a used working CAS from one of the part hoarders here.

I've never used it before, but buying something straight from China, with no chance for customer service or a human that speaks english to talk to if something goes wrong would turn me off.

Me no go China...lol :lolling: . We have plenty of what you need. You like good time for $10... :lolling: ? So whatever you need, just ask for it and someone will show you good (CAS) time.

It's just an outlet for wholesale Chinese crapware for Chinese crapware resellers. You are going to find *everything* for sale on there. But I doubt they are going to have CA CAS sensors on a shelf waiting to be shipped. Most probably they'll just whip together something similar quickly, when enough orders are placed. By the way, there's a min. order or 5 on the article you have linked.

Rather buy a used one because it may be 20 years old, but it's OEM, so it went through proper quailty control once, and it's from the 80's, so it was also built to last. And from time to time, engines blow up, heads get ruined, cranks spin bearings, pistons crack, etc., but it's hard to ruin a CAS, so there should be more CAS's around, than engines, I think.

I can't quite make it out, but I think Dee has a spare one for you for sale (?).

I order it already, prior to reading the negative comments about it. I'll update with feedback whether positive or negative. But in conclusion it seems the ca16 CAS is exchangeable with the ca18 CAS, from what I've read they share the same part #.

Success, my new (refurbished) CAS has arrived. It was 60$ and shipping was 40$, it was a hell of a deal and works great. It has new paint, different new bolts holding it together (they removed the stock one direction bolts with three new ones that have a standard Phillips head) new seals/bearings, spins with less resistance than my two old ones I had laying around. Of course I will update if it fails on me or gives me troubles.

I give this supplier two thumbs up, they returned my emails very fast and had great customer service.

(Moderators), would there be any issue with me creating a review of this CAS sensor and supplier in the "ca18de/ca18det forum"?
