so the other day the car started fine and then died immediately after.

since then it has not fired once.

turns fine, but motor wont fire.

heres what we know:

battery is fine, starter is fine, fuel pump is fine, fuel filtr is fine, lots of spark, low compression is out of the question, and timing belt is fine.

the weather went from warm to extremely cold while this happened, liek first snowfall of the year cold.

someone sugested the iacv.

woudl this cause the car to not start at all?

hoping to run daignostics shortly and see if the ecu throws any codes.

thanks guys

Could be? I had trouble starting mine last week when it got 25 degrees out. But after i fixed the plug on the ideal air controller (was broken) it started fine after that. I remember reading a post earlier last week that said the CA was a bit of a cold natured engine. Could be the problem, but then again im not an expert. Maybe float or one of the senior members could help you out. Good luck.

If spark is fine, CAS is fine, and ECU is fine, so it's either air or fuel.

Check for air leaks after the AFM, and check you have 12v at one pin on each injector with IGN on. The injectors share a common 12V feed, and maybe you've blown a fuse or melted a wire someplace.

It's possible your timing belt has slipped a couple of teeth. But that would make it run bad only.

Does it even try to catch and run at all? Pull the sparkplugs and see if they have any fuel on them.

I suspect that the fuel injectors aren't firing. Check for Voltage at the solid colored wires at the injectors. Get a mulitmeter and set it to read in VDC (Volts-Direct Current), remove the plug from the injectors, turn the ignition to the run position, find which color is solid, and put the red lead on this terminal. Put the black terminal on the chassis/block/manifold/negative battery terminal.

Do this and let me know how it turns out.

if u dont have a Multimeter, use a test light and watch to see if they pulse when u crank it

That's not true. The 12V power source doesn't pulse, it's constant. The ECU simply controls the ground path for each injector.

Look at the ECU wiring diagram. Power comes in from the battery to the dropping resistor. It's split into four wires for each injector. Then it goes out to the injectors. When the ecu wants and injector to fire it provides a path to ground, the electricity passes through the injector coil, which creates a magnetic feild, which pull the pin back, which allows fuel to enter the head/manifold.

if u noticed...i didnt say anything about 12v power side. I simply stated that on one wire it should pulse. one side should be constant, and one side should pulse.
