What are you trying to say? Does it not turnover or does it turnover, but won't start?

make sure your MAIN groudn lead from chassis to engine is good. I had similar happen to me when i first put my engine in. The strap was connected but because of age it was split inside from movement. its the big black ground cable connected to the fuse box area over to the engine.

okay, sorry for getting back so late, but i just got back from the shop and i got it to crank ans start, but now when the car hits boost it practically falls on its face. i know the maf is good because it revs when sitting still. any ideas on what the problem could be? boost leak? wrong heat range spark plugs? im open to all suggestions!

o and sorry, the problem ended up being a ground issue, so thank you meangreen!!!!!!

not a problem. Simple things always keep you confused.

Explain how its falling on its face. Is it breaking up and studdering, is it just not making any power, or is it hitting a fuel cut type rev limiter in the low-mid RPM range (ie 3000 rpm)

could be a number of things. Again really silly simple things

oooookay , welll. when sitting still it revs fine, the bov opens when i let off and everything is kosher, but when i drive it, as soon as i start to hit boost, it back fires pretty loud and then just cuts out. im sure just like you said meangreen that its something small that im overlooking lol.

and also, progman where around pgh are you?

hmmm, well i mean it COULD be a boost leak, but unless its a HUGE leak, i dunno. Id say go over your couplers and pipes first, tighten all the clamps nicely, then move on from there. Do you have a wideband on the car, as soon as you get into boost a little is it just going into retard mode and dumping a f***ton of fuel? there could be another thing too... if its popping and snapping, you could have incorrect gap on your plugs and it may be blowing out the spark. OR you could have a cracked ceramic causing the plugs to arc out on the head... theres all kinds of things man, try a few of these and see.

I'm in Carrick a couple of miles south of downtown. We should meet up and check the car over. I bet we could figure it out.
