Interested to hear from Knight rider on this, concerning what it takes to make this work on a CA...

If anyone else knows feel free....

im interested to know what it takes. But from my understanding the SR ecu is harder to "work" with. You need to do all these daughter board mods to chip it. The CA ecu is much more chip friendly so why switch? For consult software?

pros: consult support larger fuel mapcons: price of SR ecu need daughter board to modify maps.

Things you need: SR ecu with daughter board( best one is the zenki s14 because it has the same wide blue connector as CA, other sr computers use narrow blue connector and will require an adapter.)

consult plug and ecu adapter **read above**

ecu pinout for CA and which ever SR ecu you have.

then you need to know how to modify ecu bins. if you have played with the chips on your CA ecu then you are familiar with this process i hope. as far as what modifcations need to be done to the map i dont know, i didnt do the ecu work, my boss delt with the ecu tuning part.

if anyone needs the pinouts i have all of them. any other questions i will be happy to answer.

also, i did this because my boss at work wanted to try it out. the ecu cost me nuthing, but in my quest to find one, i found they go for 100-200$ normally. my boss also liked the idea of having the consult to help with tuning.

the zenki S14 ecu also has the letters WC on it, i dont know if there are other models but that one that i found that had the wide blue plug. the difference between the wide blue and the narrow blue is; the narrow blue plug has 48 small pins + the larger 101-116 pins. the wide blue plug has 60 small pins and the same larger 101-116 pins. the CA is a wide blue connector.

just so everyone knows....you will soon be able to buy daughterboards for the CA that will give the CA ECU consult capabilities, and it will use NVRAM, which will remove the need for any emulator, or EPROM wirter/eraser

this also lets you use SR plug-n-play standalones (like a PowerFC or AEM)+MAP sensor FTW
