Hey everyone. Today I had a few hours off work so I decided to get that damn transmission bolted up correctly and the driveshaft up. For those of you who may have been worried about the driveshaft being short, mine was fine, the transmission was just not back where it was supposed to be(motor mounts were leaned toward the front of the car moving it 3/4 of an inch too far forward). I fixed that with a giant flat head screw driver to wedge the thing back. :D Power of Persuasion as I like to call hit, HAHA! So once I got that in place I decided to spend some time getting rid of grease marks and handprints on my car and spend some time cleaning what could be cleaned at the moment in the engine bay. The result is in the pictures below. Pics of both the ride and the engine in the bay. I will be wiring it tomorrow(hopefully) and sometime next week. I have parts on their way so once I get em all together I'll get my piping made and start the beast up. I cant decide whether to use my MKIV Supra core or a BIG Spearco Core, what you all think? Opinions and comments are welcome. Enjoy! :ylsuper

Damn nice man! Hope mine looks that nice. As far as your intercooler dilemma goes, I'd go with the MKIV core. Unless you plan on putting down insane amounts of hp, i doubt you will ever require that big spearco. I have also heard that an excessively large intercooler can make turbo lag more noticeable.

I say Saab 9000 2.3 cse i/c. I don't know how much the Mkiv core is going 4, but i priced a few used saab i/c and most are around $150 in good shape. Plus they can handle a decent amount of hp/boost as well, 270+ tops. But for the price who can complain.

It all depends on the goals(power) u wanna achieve(and the money u wanna spend) on your setup.I would use the MK IV side mount for a total sleeper (and u could make pictures of the install!:) ), for a cheap and simple solution i would use the Saab 9000CSE intercooler and if u don't mind spending money and like it shiny do a big front mount.

slw240sx-I need that emissions stuff though, dont i? I live in PA so we have to get it tested every year or so. If I dont need it, what all should I get rid of? Yes, I have a fan and radiator. Just havent put em in yet(waiting til i get the wiring started). I think I'm gonna get Flex-a-lite fans though.

to those who comented on the IC-i kinda want the spearco one cuz I am shooting for 275-325hp this summer so thats a good amount. I was told that the Supra Core has held up to 500hp on some DSMs. I have the IC already, just cant decide if I wanna keep it or get the spearco one.

Today I am gonna go out and get that manifold and turbo off to make room for the custom mani and GReddy TD06(in the mail). :ylsuper Anything else I should do today? My dad will be gone so I wont be wiring anything. Post up quick, I'm going outside soon.

Thanks!~Ian

i know!! i gotta get rid of that stripe but i dont know how to without scratching all the paint off. i didnt take the rest off, it was like that when i bought it.

UPDATE**-I got the turbo and manifold out today. Those oil and coolant lines are a real ******. I solved two of the problems w/ the lines by getting a good set of cutters and squeezing the hell out of it til it broke. I dont care really, I'm getting new lines anyways for the new turbo and manifold position. I will have pics up tomorrow of the mani and turbo for anyone who may be intersted in buying it. Turbo is in amazing shape with absolutely no shaft play.

my stripe just came off on the metal parts(fenders) without any problems...i used goo gone for the black stuff on the bumpers....you still pull the tape off the bumper but it leaves alot of sicky black residue...i used a surfing wax plastic comb thing to scrape the gooey stuff off, once i'd soaked it in goo gone for awhile...:D

I'm sure people have easier methods, but it worked for me!

I hate the damn stripes on the side of the car, mine are like...tacked in with some metal nail type thingies...I forget the correct term for those. You know the ones you use once and that's it. And I don't know how to take them off, without drilling them out, which means I'd be left with a couple of holes on each side of the car, which I'd have to weld/bondo up somehow, and probably repaint my sides...I can't believe Nissan played me like that...*sigh* Anyone know of a better way?
