My friend just had a shop do a CA swap into her S13, and it never has seem to run right. It doesn't feel any faster than the KA did, and its for sure running rich with the Walbro installed. The shop said they needed to "tune" it so she brought it back, and they gave it back to her worse than before.
When she first got it out, It just felt kind of bogged for most of the RPM range, but boosting 10lbs it still moved fairly smoothly. Now shes got it back after the "tuning" (From what I've heard, he basically just played with the TPS and the timing) it bucks at any boost level. I told her to check the intercooler piping and she informed me that they had already checked it.
This shop doesn't seem to be able to help her, or want to for that matter, so I'm trying to do what I can to get it fixed so it runs decent. $1400 for the install of a CA, with the engine already in the bay before they got it, and shes got nothing to show for it but a car thats barely drivable.
I'm an SR guy myself, but I assume the engines share alot of similarities in how the fuel is controlled and the timing is setup. What is the stock timing supposed to be at, how much Vaccume is normal at idle, and how can I check the TPS to see that its set at stock? I will be double checking the intercooler piping to make sure that its still connected properly, but I have my doubts.
I'm just trying to get it to about the stock level if I can, I just need a little aiming in the right directioin.
