okay, atm ive gotta zenki, i plan on selling it and picking up a somewhat clean s13 shell, my question is, how hard is a RWD CA swap into an s13, what custom stuff would I have to get made? i know an SR bolts right in, but a CA doesnt to my understaning? custom motor mounts? i dont have much knowledge about the CA motor but ive read through alot of the stickies to learn as much as i could, I dont want to be like all the other kids who have 240's around my area and do an SR swap, id like to be different, so some simple noob info would be greatly apreciated, Thanks.

See that sticky where it says "READ HERE FIRST BEFORE POSTING!"...read that lol. The CA swap is about identical to an sr. It drops right in, and you can use the ka mounts. Note that the engine will sit up a little higher than it would with CA mounts, but they work. 5spd driveshaft bolts right up. The wiring guides for the SR apply to the CA as well, or one of our members(Damesta), does a CA wiring job for a good price. Just keep reading around, we've got quite a bit of info around this forum.

shows you how unloved the CA is... the CA was in the 180sx and silvia before the SR20 was.. in this sense.. its common sense that it would fit without any modications.. read the stickies.. search the forums.. the answers are all in here

It drops in no problem. What you were hearing about the motor mounts was that they are slightly different than the KA/SR mounts. You can get the proper ones from the UK. The KA/SR mounts will work, but as was stated previously, they don't tilt the motor as much and it sits higher, making STB's a bit of a pain to clear. Everything else is pretty much just like the SR. One thing to remember is that the CA doesn't have a BOV/Recirc valve like the SR and the CA sidemount is smaller. Also, CA's tend to be older and need a little more freshening up than an SR does.

Not to turn you away from the CA, but if you're looking to be different, have you considered an RB20? I just saw one on the dyno today, in basically stock form, put down a healthy 230hp. As long as you're not looking to do any grip/autoX with the car, it's a decent little motor. I was impressed.

Which is why I didnt go with an RB20. Alotta heft for .2L more displacement. I like my cars light, and powerful.

Is there a large weight different between the RB and the CA? ive heard it was somewhere near 150lbs or so...which a full tank of gas weights nearly 100lbs from what i read? so i mean is that much weight difference going to throw my car totally off? my goal is a fun daily driver...im trying to keep my budget around 5k...so i dont wanna go ape ****. but i also want to know if i decide to go to the track to play around some weekend that she is gunnd hold up and perform well for me.
