Ok, so maybe I'm just the last one on the bandwagon, but I didn't realize that Tomei make a stroker kit for the CA. It takes it up to 1950cc. Now THAT would be awesome. I'll bet that a CA with that displacement would kick the crap outta some SR's.... JK, nothing wrong with the SR, if you like Rocker Arms...

honestly, i odnt think it is worth it, with the money you could just buy a hell allot of parts and modify the hell out the CA18..

or just get the over sized pistons and go to CA19 like me and others..

i also see that courtesy nissan sells CA20 cranks so there is a cheper route to this... just need the custom rods and pistons (from TOMEI??) lol...

Well I was thinking stroker kit and bored out. Maybe get 2.1L. Now wouldn't that be crazy. I'd think with a stroker kit, it wouldn't rev out like it normally does though. I don't think I'd want to give that up. I mean, if I was going to build a drag car, I'd go turbo KA w/o a doubt. It's a friggin torque monster. I don't really think I'd ever even be intrested in it, I just thought it was cool that there was some love out there for the CA, you just have to look hard to find it.

i bet with the stroker kit and boring it out you would be able to spool the t3/t4 very fast......a very interesting though...i was thinking about that last night. I am going to look into the stoker kit and do some research about it

i think the CA can spool a T3/T04E pretty fast, and remember that a T3/T4 at 8 spi is flowing allot more that a T25 at 12... so even though the T3/T4 may not be making full boost, it may still be making more power :) and wehn full boost does kick in, that little T25 better be carefull not to get sucked in...

now if i could do it again, i think i would have gone with the GT2540R turbo...

I'm still planning on getting my CA18DE stroked. I'm looking at around $1,300 for parts and machine work for the kit. This is a little rundown of what the kit includes:

- Stroked Crank 0.250" Stroke Increase: Journals ground and rebuilt with Nickle-Chrome alloy, Glasspeened, Balanced- Custom Stoker Pistons: Relocated wrist pin hole, Knurled, Balanced, Ceramic Top Coat Heat Shield- Deves Rings

I'm not sure what the exact displacement will be as it depends on how much overbore I want. When the kit is made, you can order any compression piston you want, no additional charge. I'm probably gonna go for 11:1.

the kit is not a requirement. most of the fastest CAs are slightly bored up with no stroke changes.

I was planning on going .040 over anyway so with the .25" stroke it should come in just about 2.0 liters.

You loose your rev speed when you do that though. I guess it depends what you are wanting to do with the car. If you drag/street race then I think stroking it would rock, but I think it would hurt the powerbband and make it hard to autocross/road race. I've never seen it done and I've never seen a dyno of a CA that's had it done, so I could be totally off base here too.

Well, I'm hoping to get a nice boost in power. I've already installed a throttle body from a KA24...it's huge compared to the CA18DE throttle body. Should come in handy when the displacement increases. I'm going to run it stock, it's a JDM Bluebird engine btw, for a while until I get the funds to modify it. Of course cams and injectors will be upgraded as well, among other things, and a piggy back sds.

Just so ya know, SDS isn't piggy back, it's standalone. I'm going to put my KA-E Throttle body on my CA too, but it's because I want to keep my cruise control. :D

will the E work? I was under the impression that only the DE Throttle body worked?

Here's a link that describes what I found out about the KA24E throttle body and what I had to do in order for it to work...pics too.

Thanks! How much material did you have to remove to get the manifold to port out to the size of the KA24E Throttle body?

Quite a bit, I'm guessing around 4mm all the way around. I believe the CA is 52mm while the KA is 60mm. Wasn't easy, especially without a die grinder but it turned out real nice and real smooth.

That should work well. I used my son's muscle and a large rasp file that was curved on one side. Finished it off with a polishing bit on a drill. I really need to invest in some more power tools.

Dremel tools are awesome! Get one, for sure.
