CA starter problem

well its my first ca swap and basically it didnt have a starter and everyone kept saying that the pulsar starter works so i go and get it but the starter works but doesnt engage the flywheel, so could i have done something wrong or is it just that the starter doesnt fit????

what do you mean "doesn't engage the flywheel?"
Is the bendix throwing the gear out?
Does it grind against the flywheel or just spin?

Well problem fixed, but yea the starter was turning but it for some reason wasn't grabbing the flywheel. i have no clue what was causing this, but a friend came over and kinda shook the starter as i was turning the key then it caught, weird, lol..
