I thought with everyone crappin their pants for SR's, that CA's would be no sweat to get a hold of.

The shops that are even remotely close to me are sold out: DragDriftAutox, Venus Auto. Custom imports is the only place that could get me one...for $1900!

Does anyone have any suggestions for shops, or people, close to the pacific NW(Oregon to be specific)? Less than $1900 would be killer...hah.

I have almost begun to think of a different motor!

Thanks

-Max

Yeah, don't limit your choices to nearby places.

Buy it elsewhere, and have them ship it to the shop that will install it.

$1900 for a CA motorset is retarded. I *might* pay that for a complete front cut, MAYBE, but it'd have to be CHOICE.

Will they never come back into stock at drift drag autox? I think you will find the CA isin't an engine that is regularly heald in stock by anyone. Pretty much any place will have to order it. An close alternitive source is PRE Racing. I know someone who got a good CA from them. They are a pretty good shop, and dont have 18-year old jackoffs, with no respect for anything, working there.

And yes, i do think they are becoming more popular...even ssautochrome makes manifolds for them

I probably should have mentioned that its a front clip. $1900 is still pretty steep...any idea on how to get a hold of PRE racing?

Over here in Germany, 200SX's are all the rage. You cant go anywhere w/out seeing one, and it doesnt stop there, there is a huge euro following for the RS13's.

I think the lack of the in the US is due to the lack of intrest in them. Why bother importing them if you don't think anyone is going to buy them?

back when i was kinda looking for one, i always read the CA's were too old, rare and unwanted for the majority of importers to care about. Sticky post at top. Boostboy, pulsar_gtr, Jaraco, Jhot, etc.

Probably wont have to worry about that for a while. They're all over the place here in europe. I have a spare sitting in my garage right now that we harvested from a 200SX in a local junk yard.

Just start making euro friends =)

I imagine our engines will go the same way as a lot of old engines. You'll be able to get one for cheaper than now but you'll have to consider it as a non-running, rebuildable long block. The SR community will be there soon enough.

The RWD SR community will never be there in the U.S. whereas the fwd gang can possibly be using old fwd SR20s to rebuild and can be found in the JYD.

Is the supply of quality RWD SRs that abundant? If so I stand corrected.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. The FWD SRs are already a popular piece in the junkyard, but the RWD SRs will rarely if ever get caught in a U.S. Junkyard because they were never sold here from the start. Hence the reason why I said "The RWD SR community will never be there in the U.S.".

Ah, I did misunderstand. I suppose there's some irony in being the less supported AND (in a sense) the more available platform.
