I find it humous that the 2 truck motor fans are arguing about which motor has better performance.....

Better than lacking performance all together like you CA kiddies.

On another note... god damn CA's are cheap! I wouldn't mind getting one but I can't find crap for aftermarket parts.

Cams, valve springs, pistons, rods, cranks, copper headgaskets, timing belts, water pumps, engine bearings, oil pumps, engine seals, injectors, turbos, upgraded exhaust manifolds, intercoolers, etc, etc, etc. are all obtainable here in the U.S. It's just that one of the places that supply these parts don't advertise as at all for CA parts. What, do you think the CA is related to those NEO VVL engines? . Seriously, parts are obtainable and the crank kit kit can be bought from an autozone for under $300.

What? Crank Kit? Do you mean stock crank kit? The context makes me believe not...

Believe or don't believe whatever you want. Remember, before there was an SR20, and in 1984, there was a CA18E/ET/ and then in late1986, the KN13 pulsar SE was introduced along with the then venerable CA16DE which was changed-out for torqueier CA18DE in late 1987. You surely don't think that in the 21 years of the existence of the D42 crank, that rebuilders would not have this stuff readily available. I have purchased my 1st one and am now on my 3rd one due to undesireable imperfections in machine work, but if you really wanted anything for the CA18, it can be found. And I would think that after 9 years of exploiting the CA series motors, I would have some credibility.

P.S. I don't think there's many stock CA cranks sitting around and waiting to be purchased. However, if you have the money, you can get a crank brought back to stock specifications. A smart person would just go for the line bore of the block and main caps and be done with the factory's imperfections. I'm not one to gossip, so you didn't hear this from me .

I didnt question your credibility.

I should have rephrased it: "Do you mean the stock crank kit or stroker kit?" I was sort of imagining a frankenstien 2.0L stroker kit or something... nevermind.

There is such a thing. It's called a CA20E. I've seen (not in person) a CA20E->CA20DET conversion. It requires some minor dilling and tapping of the block for the timing belt tensioners and new, stronger, rods. If I run across a CA20 in a junkyard, I intend on picking it up.
