I also agree!! If you spend money on a CA you might as well have just given it to some cheap whore and got herpes. I know i'd rather get herpes from a cheap whore than get a CA.

What a nice bunch of CA18 owners;) So helpful and motivating, yet so disgruntled. Go SR:D (back to that cheap assembly line, that is). The CA18 is a junkyard engine:D and that's why I love it so much.

ok seriously guys! i heard these engines are awesome and they really do hold their own against SR's (even better cuz it's Iron Block/Aluminum head)

how much do they make with all the stock parts...if i were to just buy one and swap it in?

also how hard is it to put one into a s14?

a good tight motor can contain 300hp with a head gasket. slw240 has a right to be disgruntled, his motor stood up in the engine bay, spun around and yaked oil at him:puke I think he had to call in the preists"the power of wrench compells you"!"the power of wrench compells you"!"the power of wrench compells you"!

I can't seem to get my noobish question answered in General, so I'll just throw it in here. What years did Nissan use the CA18DET?

Did they use them in any other cars after that? I ask because in GA there's some rule about your engine being same age or newer (in years) than your car, and SR's are more expensive, so I was hoping maybe there's some car that used CA's through 96'... pretty sure there wasn't. Oh well...

More like 86-91! UK models were produced a little longer (I think till 94), but I could be wrong.

You are correct, in the UK the SR20 wasn't used untill they switched to the S14 model.
