I found out that I can use either the CA or KA motor mounts for either motor. But whta I wondering is if I get nismo, or some other type of poly mount, should I get CA ones or KA ones? I have a KA right now, but I'm going to get a CA early next year, but I really need mounts now. any suggestions?

KA mounts will tilt the motor, don't use them. Perhaps on stock mounts they are weak enough to not matter, but NISMO mounts will cause alot of fitment issues and tilt the transmission as well, putting the shifter at a funky angle. Just bad news all around.

The ka mounts also cause the engine to sit a little higher in the engine bay. I used my stock ka mounts, and they were soft enough that my shifter isn't tilted, but it does sit up higher.

so would it be alright to get Nismo CA mounts for my KA for now, or should I either ignore it or get KA mounts for now?

I would get some silicone from Home Depot (like you use to seal windows) and a caulk gun and pull the stock mounts and fill the gaps with the silicone for now. Then, do the same for the CA mounts or get CA Nismo mounts when you get your new motor. No sense in spending $150 twice.

My brother and I used Cusco SR mounts on his CA. It didn't tilt the engine and they're really solid. The engine doesn't jump around or flex. They bolted up really easy and didn't cost him that much.

Will that actually work? I just need my car to get inspected. (It kicks when it goes into second and they couldn't pass it that way)

i cut the highest edge off the mounts and welded the upper and lower parts togther, caught on fire a bit, but now they are completely solid.

SR and CA mounts are the same. You can buy Cusco or Nismo even if they say they're for only a SR. NO subsitute!

NISMO CA and SR mounts are different.

I don't know about Cusco..

you can bolt it in with the wrong mounts but it screws up how the engine sits and can cause various fitment issues (transmission shifter leaning over 15-20 degrees for example because the whole engine is rotated, engine sitting higher might rub the hood, or the STB (even the cusco CA model which is the only one that fits))

I know because I had SR/KA mounts. Use them at your own risk. I highly recommend getting CA specific mounts.

Yes, Enjuku Racing told me that SR and CA are different. However, everybody says that SR and KA are the same. I used KA mounts for awhile, and all they did was make the engine lean a little bit more to the driver side. I use the Cusco motor mounts that are intended for the SR, and they fit perfect. No bushings, just a solid mount. Makes my iterior rattle, b/c the motor no longer does a hula-dance. No more major lean, They're perfect!
