I picked up the crank from the machine shop today, the pistons are in, all the nuts, bolts, gaskets, bearings, and pumps are here. It should be on the road with the m***ive 60-1 turbo within 2 weeks. Hope to have some pics soon after it's finished.

What did you have done to your crank? Did you knife-edged it or just balance it?

we are actually using a 60-1 on one of our gsx's, let me know the results when you get that thing together, im interested in how the track times and hp will compare, even though it may be apples and oranges...

We ballanced the entire rotating assembly, that's about it for the crank.

As far as what I was running before, I really don't know... never put it on a dyno or ran it at the track. Hopefully I'll get around to it on this settup though :)

later,

heh, I ran that motor up to 30psi at 9,000 rpm. It was quite fun, I think I was in the high 380-390 range. Never did get it on a dyno, kinda ran out of money on the whole project. I did end up running a bigger cam, and better turbo. There are some pics of it floating around here somplace.

That's right boys, Paul is now an SR junkie, so he'll definitely make it to the dyno now;) . They like displacement because it equates to power. They like coca-cola because the cans and the SR20's have shared genetics:D J/K. But this is old thread and it's going to be up to one of us devote our motor to the wrath of the dyno. And after yesterday's outting of 13 pulls at the dyno, I feel sorry for the little motor; but I think it has no self-pitty.

Quote »Dee, if any of us can do it, you can![/quote] Thanks for having faith in me Ryan! Revving the CA18 up on the street is different from revving it up on a dyno; the dyno makes the engine seem more violent and prone to blowing it up. But here's the deal, what most do on the dyno will not be duplicated on the street. I've raced 500+whp cars including some corvettes and I would have to say that the little sentra represented nissan and the CA18 motor period. What some can do at the track, will not represent their ability on the street; but then again I ain't hatin' on any car faster than 15 seconds in the 1320;) .

Hey D, have you ever considered selling that little project you have in the back of the shop? In case you forgot, its the one that I got lots of pics of.

ill definately 'represent for the CA community on the dyno. got my tax refund so now ive got a little over $1400 bucks to make it scream. im gonna do the rod bearings/studs and the rings and the head gasket/studs. front mount intercooler from a friend, ebay it up for gauges and a boost controller. im guessing thatll leave 800 bucks or so, any ideas? s15 turbo and injectors? ive got the ecu to run them im thinking...

All of tecs (Haltech, Motec, microtec) and gang of others will. Personally, I'm glad the thing is gone; less moving parts, less wires to run, less affiliation with any factory component and full timing adjustments via my handheld.

thanks. i thought i was awesome with my extra cash and you guys just had to go own the phizzuck outta me. dee, is $1800 for just the sds and installation and stuff? or do i get other stuff too...maybe things thatll make my car a bit quicker? and by a bit i mean well into the 200s whp wise. im a bit reluctant to go with a standalone just now because ive only had my safcII for a few months and havnt really gotten to use it yet. i guess if i sold it, both ecus and the leftovers i might be able to make 1800 bucks if you could make it worth my while. or perhaps you want an safcII and a host of ecu's? anyway, what did you have in mind for my not very hard earned at all money?
