I would just like to saY AFTER ALL the hardships this car has brought me, i finally get to enjoy it.I love my little CA and after my re-break in period, I will be turning up the boost to 12lbs on the sr t25 and really enjoying what it has to offer.

Everyone is selling or quitting, and when members finally enjoy there car, we should rejoice and talk about it. I dont see that much on this board, just problems, plagued with problems.

So for all that arent quitting or are enjoying there car, tell me what you got planned, AND why you love the CA.

GO!

i've spent the last 4 months messing with engine management options, funky knob turning, rearranging gauges, upening the boost, lowering the boost, considered selling the car for an rb20 swap, finally installing an adjustable fpr and a fairly decent a/f gauge. that **** took forever, then fixing the constant fuel leaks from my riggend fuel lines (i think i've finally got that one, even though the car still smells like high test and the apple air freshener turned black), then, most assuredly at 1 bar, whacking the piss out of the fuel cut in two gears...if you haven't felt that one, i suggest you try it, it's an experience your likely not to forget. but most importantly, realizing that over the past year and change i haven't learned more, met more people that are as interesting, tried more and made more half assed attempts at automotive tomfoolery than i have before this. this motor and car is mine!!!! and i'll finish it, sort of, eventually. right now, i'm thinking i should probably install that fcd that's been in my door holder forever and a stronger clutch (stay away from spec stage 1 clutches, they smell like poo when they burn!)

p.s. i've seen what appear to be quite a few new ca peoples and that's good, but you've got to be paitent, this **** doesn't happen overnight, it took me six months to get mine running, partly because i didn't know what i was doing and mostly because i'm lazy. this motor set is fantastic and there's a lot of good info in here...oh, and follow float6969's upgrade guide, it'd have been nice to see that before i wandered in and out of concisousness(sic) and then pissed so much money down thedrain ...but, oh well, better late than never...

p.p.s. INSTALL THE ADJUSTABLE FPR BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE ENGINE IN THE CAR!

This August will be 3 years for me. Seems like just yesterday that she fired for the first time in my little white coupe. I truly love this motor. Nothing like having folks ask "What motor is THAT?" when I pop my hood.

PS I installed my Nismo FPR with the motor on the car in about 5 minutes. I just used an adapter for my 1/4" drive socket with a philips head driver on it, and it came right off. It IS pretty hard to adjust though, lol.

I can honestly say "kouks" that I am glad that you're finally getting to enjoy your car. And a note to all readers, if most of you who are having problems took the time to actually read before you just dive into your projects, you guys probably won't be using the forum as a personal complaint site.

But before any of you that this pertains to start making something out of nothing, rest assured that no matter how much you guys have issues, we'll be here to help you as much as we can; even if you get bashed along the way . My old saying still applies, if you don't know what in the phuck you're doing, don't be afraid to ask for help or pay someone to do it for you.

I'll share my CA love story too.

After 're-working' my car (datsun 1200) since easter 2005, it's almost ready to be declared finished.

I've recently installed a 450x300 intercooler, new exhaust manifold, new dump pipe, new cat, new sard fuel reg, new retainers/hd springs/solid lifters and 270/9.25 cams, SSQV BOV, and can say my car now 'goes hard', even without a retune. The retune is scheduled for 24th jan. So I'll be back to give the 'tell all story' then.

At the top of the first 4 gears, the car breaks traction. After the tune I expect it will be even more exciting. I plan to set the boost levels into the 20+psi region, and raise the redline to 9k.

Don't worry, it's not a daily driver :-)

Well, I started off with plans for an SR swap into my S13. Everything was going good until I took it to get installed. I was screwed on the install, spent too much money and didn't know what the hell I was getting into. I met a couple honest people along the way that helped and got it running with almost no charge. After a couple drives all the other crap started going wrong. The list of parts I changed are too long and the headaches were plenty. So after giving up and having a mustang given to me by my girlfriend's mom, she said it was my choice to keep the car, sell and invest into the SR, or buy another car with the money. I went back to my friend who was selling his S14 with the CA swap perfectly done (pics to come) and found out he was selling his car. He was parting it out piece by piece until I came just in time to get the car before the Buddy Club exhaust and FMIC were removed. The car is a turn key blast and I love the sound that car puts out with that pipe on. I know I didn't build the car, but I know that it had care put into it because the motor is in top shape and looks like it was meant to be in there. I guess I was just meant to have a CA. Because after going to get the car and it not being driven for weeks, it started right up and boosted perfectly, that is after it warmed up... I'm in it to win it with CAs

hmmmm. boost boy can tell you that i have wanted a CA18 for the longest time. i used to have a 240 and it was totaled before i could think about installing the CA, but once i got the 510 i knew there was only one engine that i wanted to throw in it. My project is going to be insanely hard and very expensive. right now i am just gathering parts to make it work. but so far there are no regrets except i wish i had more money to throw at the swap/project/build. but it should all happen soon enough.

Indeed! You are one of the members on this forum who knows what they want, asked the right questions as they pertain to your wants and needs, and is not afraid to front the money to make your dream/goal become an achievable reality. I'll be but a phone call away from you when you need me because I can't wait to see how this thing is going to turn out. Good luck to all on their projects........
