Alrite you CA people. I love the CA engine monthssssssss ago but my financial situation held me back from puttin one in. I was wondering if you guys know anyone or anywhere that have the engine with full wiring harness...makes my life much easier. I'm new to this, as you can tell, and I've figured that the only way to learn somethin is by doing it yourself so I will do my swap in my garage...yes, my mom will kill me. What are the tools that you MUST need for a swap. I will go out n buy a complete rachet and socket set for hundreds dollar...da should be it....right? I will do more sjavascript:opensmiliewindow(240,280,'')Get Moreearch but if you guys are kindly enough, can you tell me wat are the main/common problem in the engine/swap. Changing fluids, hoes, and belts. Thanks guys

main problems: the turbo is usually shot on these engines, which is annoying but can be replaced with a sr t25, which is a slight upgrade for relatively little money. you will need to replace the belts, change the fluids, i reccomend you check to see what the inside of the engine is like for safety's sake, etc. if the water pump is shot, replace it with a ca18et one. all belts and gaskets you will want other than that will come from a ca18de.

tool-wise, the more the merrier. i would want a good collection of open-ended wrenches as well as the sockets, but i think youll be fine either way. good luck with the swap/finding an engine! oh, and welcome to the CA forum.

A big hammer. Don't forget the big hammer. You'll need it to beat on things when you get frustrated. Oh, and more money. It will ALWAYS cost more than you think it will.
