whats on my car now:NPR FMICTPS from 91-94 KATurboxs RFLIC piping kit from JGStoolsGreddy DP to stock exhaust
1.when i turn my car on... It idles at 3k rpms... but the throttle plate is closed....
2.if i try and drive it, it'll start to go for like half a second and then it'll just rev up and stutter alot... i have to coast back to my house at like 2k rpms both times i tried taking it out.
3.I have a tube running off my flex tubing to the L shaped hard pipe comming out the middleof the intake manifold..... is that right??
4.also i dont have the bottom tube from that piece thats between the TB and alternator...... it hastwo hoses on top and one on the bottom..... but i dont know where to connect it to
5.lastly was I supposed to connect a tiny...3" vaccum hose to those little canisters (w/ hard pipes comming off the top) at the end of the fuel rail??
6.thats pretty much it.... i just dont know what to do...... would it be anything w/ the idle up valvesthat have an adjustable screw in them on the middle of the intake manifold??
thanks for your help guys
1. I think the dual cam TPS is different than the CA or single slammer KA. Try using your CA or getting a single slammer TPS and checking that out. The CA one has an idle switch built into the TPS, I don't think the dual cam KA's do.
2. Vacuum leak and timing. Do you have a boost gauge? You should be running 18-23 mmHG at idle. Double check all your intercooler piping. Start the car and spray carb cleaner on the intake tract. Concentrate on the couplers. If the idle rises... there is your leak. Also check the timing, 15 btdc, or the second mark from the right.
3. Is that tube coming from the intake pipe or from the charge pipe? Your vacuum routing should be like this.....
-little tube on the intake pipe, cap it off-bigger tube on the intake pipe, should go to the exhaust cam cover.-tube from front side of intake cam cover to the back of the intake manifold, pcv valve-turbocharger, just route a length of hose from the housing to the wastegate actuator, that thing under the ignitor is for hot starts, I don't use it and have no problems with hot starting-looking from left to right on the intake manifold, or from back to front of car-little line off the intake manifold should be going to the fuel pressure regulator.... tee that off to run the swirl control vavle too.-bigger hose by the battery ground, use it for your BOV and boost gauge-little hose under the throttle body, cap it off-Now you should have a big hose under the throttle body, that goes to your Air Regulator which will give you idle and drivablity problems. There should be a tee in it, all you need to do is hook it up to your charge piping-Set of four little copper vacuum lines in the back of the motor... just leave them, they are for emissions.
4. See number 3
5. Shouldn't be any vacuum lines on the fuel rail. Just double check the routing in number 3.
6. I just think your vacuum lines are all screwed up. Try that and report back!
