I was wondering if, since the early silvias had CAs, a CA would be an easier bolt in in the earlier chassis. I know the SR20 requires different power steering lines etc. in the early S13. Does the CA also require different power steering lines?

ach! those kits are pretty cheap though right? like under 200 bucks... I know i've seen the damn things online, I mean it's just a couple hoses right? I keep seeing old S13s for real cheap. and it's looking like i can't really sell my civic to get money for this project, cause then i'll have nothing to drive.

I modified my stock PS lines to fit. Its not that hard to do.

The 89-90 a/c compressor bolts right on. Only problem is, the a/c pulley sticks out a 1/2" bit further.

What's involved with modifying the stock lines? What causes the problem?

The PS lines run to the passenger side of the car on the 89-90.

Once the motor is out, you can see hard metal lines running from the steering knuckle to the passenger side.

I took the end that has the banjo bolt on and bent it carefully to the drivers side where the new pump is. The other line you can remove it and one piece of rubber tubing will remain. This part will go to the resevoir.

Its kinda hard to explain all this. Ill get pics soon.

Actually I've got my engine out already and I know exactly what you're talking about now :). I was actually thinking about making my own power steering lines with hose and fittings from http://www.russellperformance.com. I was planning to go with them for fuel fittings and line, but they do P/S lines as well, so why not :)

not to be thread stealer but, will the stock p/s lines work if you have a 91-93 240, but put in a CA?

Should do. The power steering resovior and pump are on the right side if i'm not mistaken.
