Hey all, does anybody know if I need to register with the DMV if my gauge cluster is swapped out for a different one? More importantly, will that damage my car's title if "mileage is incorrect or different"?

It is probably illegal for you to swap a gauge, it probably has to be done by a repair shop. However, I have swapped my cluster out for a HUD one and I simply just took apart the odometer and matched it to my current mileage. If you want a write up, let me know.

Yeah dude for sure! Also, did you do a writeup somewhere for cutting a hole in your dash for the HUD conversion? Super shiny car btw! it's very 80's with the helicopter wheels.

Legal to change if broken. Keep a record of the mileage of the broken odometer and note it. If you sell you are required to tell the buyer. DMV doesn't care if the vehicle is 10 years old when it comes time to register.

Ya I bumped this, get over it.
