I researched the part numbers for someone who was short a flow meter and I want to share the info with all you guys swapping in J-spec motors.

CA18DET(S13) 22680-58A10

Enjoy :)

Unfortunately, not used anywhere in the US, FYI.

And the European models used different part#'s:

22680-61A00 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 1089- &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp CA18DET (automatic)22680-61A00 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 0988-1089 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp CA18DET22680-61A01 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 1089- &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp CA18DET (manual)22680-D6000 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 0988- &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp CA18DET (f/ anti pollution)

The first is the same as Pulsar KN13 CA18DE (0887-0989) and CA16DE (0587-0887), as well as S12 CA18ET (0184-0786); the others aren't available in US spec vehicles.

Just occured to me I haven't checked Infiniti but I'm too lazy to edit my ini to load it, I don't have a batch file to swap in the Infiniti ini ...

ANYWAYS, not much point getting an expensive imported JDM one when you can slap on a SOHC KA24E (89-90 240SX) MAF, same signaling from my understanding and thus no reprogram necessary, but wider opening so less flow restriction (just a tiny bit wider).. this is what I'm going to do.

Well I don't understand why anybody would use a flow meter at all. VPC RULES!

Those are the numbers from Nissan Japan, these motors people are getting are J-spec units so the european ones would possibly not be calibrated right. Somebody would have to find a dealer willing to try to get stuff not originally found in the U.S. Nissan parts bins in the first place so it's far from easy. Can you go to the AFM threads I made in 240 technical and SR RWD forums and add the European numbers you have to what I put?

Those bastards at HKS are discontinuing it now so people have to buy that insanely expensive FCON V-Pro. Last time I checked only a shop with powerwriter software can tune it so it's no better than a ROM tune, greedy ****s. That's why I have one in the wife's 180 and a backup in the shop, they can suck it!;)

the prices of standalones are only a little more than these programable replacement computers, you speak the truth sir. I picked up the second VPC from a large chain used parts place for $15.00:D I asked the guy "why so cheap"? The clerk said it's missing the pressure sensor and we don't know what engine it's for. I said "O.K. I have six extra HKS pressure sensors at the house".He rung me up and asked how I knew it would work on my car, I replied "gimme my receipt and I'll tell you". I pocketed the receipt then flipped it over and showed him the sticker on the back that says CA18DET. I swear what a dufus!:rolleyes

You know it wouldn't be very difficult IF you knew the MAF voltage to airflow scaling, and MAP voltage to air pressure scaling, and an air temperature sensor (since temp + pressure are needed to find flow IIRC?) to create a converter (from an EE standpoint, 'not very difficult), but you'd need to know all that first. I know romedit has presets for several different MAFS, I wonder if the presets are straight voltage to percent flow mappings, or .. ? ... I'm sure someplaceon the net its possible to find the same for a MAP, would make a nice project..

edit: just checked your SR post, same #'s for S14 in europe (no S13 there w/ SR) and no crossovers or anything in the US so nothing to add to that thread. and of course RB not offered anywhere outside japan (saw that when searching :D) so not even bothing on looking for that :D
