Do you guys have and pics of the 8 port head and manifold?Kinda curious, never seen it.

Do you know if the mad CA´s in Japan use the 4 or 8 port?

zerothread/216596AFAIK, the EDM is the only ones that got a 4 port CA18DE(T). I could be wrong.

Thanks! 8 ports are p0rn... You could build a nice intake manifold to that thing. Reminds me of the old 720hp Audi IMSA/GTO heads, 5 cyl and 10 exhaust ports, crazy manifolds, 10-1.

No 4-ports in Japan. I like the look on guys faces when they see on of mine. "WTF is that"? The 4-port definately looks like something for highway or circuit work though, the ports are big. I am going for a steet car motor this go around so I will stick with the 8-port. The 4-port will get used in the future but that will be an expressway weapon.

Sure, manifolds as well huh?

ks13: Looks good! Got more manifold pics? Does is go 1 -> 2 runners close to the head?

Yea, there is the main plenum with it's 4 runners, just like the EDM CA's, but at the sub manifold it splits each runner into 2 (4 x 2 = 8) and then the butterfly's are in the sub manifold.

Ah, I thought it was a 2 chamber manifold and had the butterfly in there.

Those 4 port heads must be pretty easy to come by over there... What sort of value does a complete 4 port head, and intake manifold have in sweden? I am interested in getting my hands on one to try out for my next engine build. After I get a 4 port swapped and running on my ca, ill have no use for the 8 port head, and intake - so that would be yours if you wanted it Shoot me an email...

I'm planning on doing a side-by-side comparison of the 8 port vs. 4 port head this year. This would include measurements, volume, and actual back-to-back dyno charts.

Well, get with it! lol It would be nice to see some numbers before I jump into it... Just looking at the pictures of the 4 port head leads me to believe it should (in theory at least) have killer top-end power. I would offer to swap heads and do a few before/after dyno runs... Only problem is that the nearest dyno is like 3 hours away - I live in the sticks up here. But who knows - if I find a head maybe ill just have to get the guys together and take a road trip . None the less someone definately needs to do an official comparison - with some controlled specs.

I've actually been trying to for a few months now, but my deals on getting heads keep falling through...

Don't worry float you got one. Just with the new house and moving it is a little busy around here. I have one here for you just have to remove it and pack it up.

i think someone on SXOC did a comparison of the 4 port vs. the 8 port, maybe sidewaysdanny can chime in as he frequents that site.

Oh, I wasn't talking about you Jason, I meant the 8 port heads I've been trying to get. Sean has got one he's going to let me have, but he's crazy busy and hasn't been able to get it shipped. I started talking to him about it about 2 weeks before I ever started talking to you and he still hasn't gotten a chance to ship it yet.

I think I know what you're talking about, but if it's the same thread I've seen, there wasn't a back-to-back horsepower comparison. They talked a little bit about port diameters, but nothing about port volume.
