something similar happened to my dad's '00 mustang gt. it was getting some recall work done at the dealership, and some tech monkey backed a truck up into the driver's side and totalled it. It took some yelling and wrangling, but they finally agreed to give him a new car, but he had to pay the difference in price. He upgraded to an '01 GT, and it was just a few thousand difference in price (had the previous car been at full value). All dealerships are full of bullsh1t and I hate them. There are somedays I wish I was a customer relations consultant just so I could help clean those rat traps up.

LOL I remember when I was working for a Nissan dealer here in Orlando and I put my Honda prelude on the lift. I was in a hurry "not good" and I put the front arms of the lift to far back. So I put the car in the air about 5 feet and everything was ok until I took off the back tires! Well as soon as I did the back of the car lifted up and I saw it so I grabbed the bumper to balance the car and called the tech who worked next to me to PLEASE LOWER THE LIFT! I will never forget that. Another time at the same dealer the service manager hired a newbie for oil changes and long story short he dropped a 98 maxima GLE from 6 foot with no rims or tires. I remember it like it was yesterday I remember feeling the ground shake when that car hit the floor. The owner came back to see her car and met with the dealership owner and she left that same day in a new maxima.
