Is it really worth it over stock? I am debating on picking one up. There is a shop selling them and they have 6 on hand.....

It's preference I think more than anything. I have one and I like it, but the $330 I paid for it was asinine. I think I was so hung over I was still drunk when I bought it and it was an impulse + booz thing. There is no real performance difference, but there is a definite "input" difference in dealing with your car, and I love having a short throw. I had one in the Skyline and have one in my jeep now. Now I'm not sure if you are asking if having a short throw is awesome, or if the C's brand is that much better. For the latter, I'd say get the cheap one. I had cheap a one in my RB20 transmission and it was fine--felt just as good as the C's. When i went to the RB25 swap though, I couldn't find anything for the RB25 transmission other than the C's, and that sucked (paying for that overpriced lump of metal) but I love the feeling.

no the only shifter worth getting is a B&M. otherwise stay stock. speaking from experience dealing with both shifters

Wait, are we talking about an RB20 or RB25? B&M doesn't make one for the RB25 and I've actually never seen anything else for RB25 transmission's other than C's, but I'm sure they exist.

idahotuner---are you assuming B&M is just a good name brand and stuff you haven't heard of is knock off crap? The C's stuff is overpriced, over engineered crap (but it works well) just like HKS or greddy or Tomei and not knock off.

Also, I just remembered, the aussie guys said there are C's knock offs on ebay for RB20's.

What sucked about the non-B&M shifter you had?

Sorry this is for the Rb25 trans. And I had B&M and like it. Very solid and short shifts so I am looking for something comparable. These are around 260 shipped (C's) that is.

like mark said.. it's all preference because my opinion is the reverse of yours.

If you want that clunk mechanical feeling then get a B&M.

on the other hand the C's was super smooth when shifting.

i saw rb20 and assumed. my cs sucked on my sr20, sloppy and loose but the b&m i have is very nice , very short throw and very tight. but for an rb25 transmission i am unsure.

And I've been looking at the B&M but I don't know if it will work so i am going to take some measurements of the bolt holes and plate of the short shifter then the Rb25DET shifter plate.

i have a C's and it's not bad, just pricey. at least it gets rid of the annoying C clip. i've felt a b&m on some SRs and they're really mechanical/solid feeling and vibrate like a mofo. that could just be due to solid mounts with an i4 though... another alternative is the nismo. i believe it's slightly cheaper than the C's.

however, even with the C's the shifting feel and throw still feels like crap compared to a stock s2k. when i shifted from 1st to 2nd the first time in an s2k i thought i was still in neutral.

I have a C's shifter in my RB25 transmission and I love it! I only paid ~$180 shipped from JDM land through nengun.com about 5 years ago. It definitely shortened the throw to the point where I don't feel like I'm rowing a boat everytime I change gears!

Not sure if I would pay $300+ for it though if that's what the current asking price is...
