C-Mod grille!

Hello guys, I'm waiting for my C-Mod grille to arrive in the next few days. I know this has been discussed many times, but I guess I have some new questions..
1. Do I have to take the whole bumper off to install the grille?! Or can I just take off the upper part? I really don't want to take the whole bumper off because last time I took the bumper off I accidentally scratched one of the wheel arches...

2. If I paint match the grille, can I put an additional protective paint layer on it? Why not? I heard that the color will fade if no protective layer was added, is this true?

3. Any tips on how to install the grille perfectly and without much hassle? (trimming the clips.. etc)

1. You don't have to take the whole bumper off, but apparently it is a huge pain in the butt to get off without removing the bumper. Its actually much easier to remove the bumper. Just be gentle when removing and reinstalling.

2. You should be able to clear coat it like any other paint job to protect it from chips and fade.

3. It should install like an OEM grill if I'm not mistaken.
