What are you talking about? The neutral safety switch? The clutch box? Elaborate...

Its the relay or switch he's looking for, he either wants remote start, or clutchless ignition or a combination of ghetto mods.

Yeah, you're talking about the neutral safety switch.

I wish I knew how to do it. I have a car alarm installed that has a remote start feature but no shop wants to hook it up. My friend recently shorted out his Dad's celica and he no longer had to step on the clutch to start the car. I'm thinking maybe there's a fuse somewhere that eliminates all that stuff. But remember, you still have to splice through the ignition in order to get the remote start working.

ok short story short...... at the very top of the clutch pedal is a switch..... ( its way the F*** up there and hard to get to, a plastic guide on mine moves maybe once a year and i gotta wiggle it back into place)

a switch is a simple device.... its either open or closed....chances are this particular switch is a normaly open switch which needs to be close/shorted to start the car.... if this is the case... simply take the 2 wires to it and tape/solder them together.... if its a normally closed then the reverse would be needed, simply cut the wires and make sure they wont short out on anything...

havnt done this to mine, simply cause its not an issue to me... but it should be ok..... just dont hold me accountable if for some reason this is actually computer controlled ( which i seriously doubt.... a switch is a switch is a switch !!! )

just start the car at the starter wire, you dont need to bypass the nuetral safety. just dont leave it in gear. i had it on my 91, no problems at all.

..or just find a way to hold the switch down.

Go under the steering wheel and near the clutch pedal you'll see a switch. You'll notice that it is pressed when the clutch pedal is pressed. All you'd have to do is find a way to make sure that the switch is pressed in all the time and you'll be all set. I suggested tape, but you may be able to go in to the little box and just connect the wires together...

You may be looking for the clutch safety switch, which is under the hood. My clutch is on its way out and the car stopped thinking that I had the peddal in at some point, so I had to by pass it. The swithc is mounted on the inner fender wall near the battery, its a little blue/gray box with a wire connector coming out of the bottom of it. Push in the little catch, slide it out and you'll see two little contacts on the inside of the connector. Get a peice of wire, and fashion some kind of ends for it (I used flat audio spade connectors from napa, came in a box of 50!). Then insert both ends of the wire into a slot. Problem solved.
