doing viper remote start on g35 that came with 2 smart keys and a chipped hard key. using 556u bypass for remote start with key inside. i have done previous set ups like it but on older g35s with no smart keys. 03s and 04s i never had a problem but i cant seem to get it going. everything is installed properly because if one of the smartkeys is nearby it remote starts fine like it should. anyone done one?

Not sure on this one.

You're either effed, or you're going to need some bypass module to defeat the smart key feature.

If you can't start it with the chipped key without out a smart key near by, then there is nothing you can do, short of leaving a smart key hidden in the car at all times. This is not recommended for obvious reasons. There is no by-pass interface available, and no signs of one being available any time soon. Smart keys for many vehicles have been out for a couple years, and still no sign of a by-pass for any of them.

thanx for the help. i just dont understand it. i have done many remotestarts on many cars with different bypass modules. but no matter how i try and position the ring around the key cylinder it wont remote start. by the way i also noticed that if i use the factory hood pin it makes the alarm think the hood is open.

Then they are installed incorrectly! We install about 350 Viper starters a year without a hitch.

no it's not the 791 its the 560xv. same system but without the lcd remote and having to buy another remote at about $100.00. no offense to other alarm companies but i only install viper security systems and that is what i have always had. the 790 had its share of problems with the white remotes when they first came out. all we did when i worked at Tweeter was swap them out with the blue remote from a 791. the bypass module 556u is one i have used on older g35s. just have to move around the ring till you get it in the right spot to remote start. i might have to find another bypass module for an 07 even if its from another company other than DEI. as long as it works, i dont care.

If you take the smart keys and put them a 100 feet from the car, can you still use the chipped key to start it? If not, it has nothing to do with your immobilizer ring. You just can't do a remote start on that car unless you have a smart key within 10 feet of it.
