Ok so when I swapped out my stock seat for the new one (without the side airbag) my airbag sensor light is flashing because well... the airbag is not there anymore.

How do I bypass that sensor light and still keep the airbags functional?

What does your insurance company say about your changes which may be insurance fraud as the premium is calculated on oem designs, especially medical portion. Air bags are usually a line item premium discount.

Unlikely that anyone would be foolish enough to discuss/suggest safety mods which might embroil them in future litigation!

You'll need a resistor, and a short piece of wire. You cut the signal wire from the harness where the airbag was removed from. Then wire in the resistor, and it then shuts it off.

I might still have the correct resistor here, and if I do, I'll send it to you. It came with a steering wheel hub that I bought for my Maxima. I have to leave town for a week, so I won't have a chance to look for it until next Saturday...

That would be a very big stretch to say the least. Particularly with side airbags as no insurance application I've ever seen actually asks if the vehicle has side airbags. And even if it did, it could only be considered material misrepresentation if the applicant lied about it on the application and there was an affect on the premium as a result. Additionally, most insurance companies will not consider effecting a policy rescision on a premium amount issue unless there is more than a minimum percent change in premium as a result of the material misrep. Further, if he made the changes to the vehicle after he signs the application, then there is no misrep or fraud.

And it's not that you don't necessarily have a valid point. But it's quite misleading the way you state.

Well guess what... my stock seat was BROKEN... and I changed this one out for safety because I could not pay $1500 for a new seat.

Get off your high horse and come down here with the rest of the normal people.
