First off I want to thank ALL you guys for making this place THE #1 ALTIMA FORUM.
Seriously, you guys have become my virtual family for the last three years. I love all of you, too much I think haha.

....Yes this thread is what you think it is.

THE BLUE CANADIAN ALTIMA COUPE HAS BEEN SOLD!

hoW?! WHY?!!! NOOO!!!!! yep, I sold the car. we had tons of fun together, it was my first car, and I will remember it forever. even my GF was like "WTH!? you've LOVED this car SO much! At times, I thought you loved it more than me!" lol.

I outgrew the car. I tried to mod it into something it wasn't meant to be and I came to a point where it was either, turbo it (lol watch out for the BSmod) or get a better car. Being 24, I told myself, better enjoy a real sport car before obligations prevent me from ever owning one and so,
I bought a RWD, MIDENGINED, TWO SEATER SPORT CAR.

I know I've kinda become part of the background furniture here on the Altima forums and I know some of you guys will never forgive me for switching cars, and even worst, switching car MAKER! but don't worry I'm still the same guy I was before, just with a German car now...

Those of you who do venture off the Alti forums have known for a while now what it is.

Say hello to the 370z Rivaling PORSCHE CAYMAN S.
hell yeah, just went over to the DARKSIDE! :rotflmao

I'm not sure if I'll be able to bring it to Carlisle because I don't know if I'll be able to get the papers to drive it before then, but I'll try my best!

P.S. Please don't kill me
P.S.S. All mods for sale, and I can bring them with me to carlisle lol
(before you ask, the HLSD has been sold with the car lol)
P.S.S.S I won't disappear from the forums so don't worry lol, I'll still post as much as I usually do...almost ;)

Oh noez! I had seen your thread about the Cayman in Gen. Chat; I didn't think that Mr. HLSD would part with his car for a long while (and I was wrong, lol). Anyhow, I hope you enjoy the car dude! Looks pretty sweet. :bigthumb:

good decision. Why waste $ modding an AC that can't really do anything. Congrats on the upgrade!!!

thanks! but I have to disagree with the "can't really do anything" part.
If there is one thing I have learned from owning my AC, its what this car's Pros and Cons are.

pros of my car were:
powerful and torquey VQ engine, luxurious ride when full equip with the leather, winter capable coupe, carry 5 (!!) people, keyless, autoheadlights (never touch it again), quiet, safe ride (5 stars crash rating), LATCH system for babyseats in the back. GREAT center console layout and easy to use controls. Auto DUAL climate control. surprising aftermarket support considering the limited worldwide availability of the car. 60/40 rear seats that fold FLAT. GREAT MPGs (I was getting 30hwy 22city). AUX input for music.

It was practical and sexy

but it had cons too: small trunk, stock ride isn't as sporty as i'd like, 4x4 look, tendency to understear when pushed to the limit, uncommunicative steering at low speeds , boring CVT ride, long throws on the manual transmission and clunky feeling on the shifter with the too light shift knob. Nearly 300hp without a limited slip diff. fit and finish isn't perfect, there are some rattles here and there. small wind noise at high speed. Brittle and cheap paintjob. Nissan's LOCKED packages.

still, I'll miss it

by saying it can't really do anything, I meant u can't mod it like honda's, Z's, G's where u can increase HP noticeably. The aftermarket for AC is so miniscule, more aesthetic than performance parts. Better to getting a real sports car than spending $ trying to turbo an altima.

not true. If you have a stick shift you can get crazy power and mehdi did have a stick shift. you can turbo it and have a good amount of power. its a 350z motor so the internals SHOULD fit. with a built motor and turbo system you can be much faster then a lot of cars.

I think the biggest problem with the altima isn't even the cars fault. the car is an amazing car and I dont think anything could beat it IN ITS CLASS. but the car was too good. we started comparing it to cars that are in a different class and then of course the altima coupe falls short.... had I bought a stick shift like I initially wanted, I would probably keep the car forever. BUT it being a CVT, cant do much. then if you look into used cars, its crazy what you can get. I see 335i BMWs for 23k and 24k with only 36k to 45k miles. a $300 tune and the thing is at 410 HP... super luxuries (many of the ones I've seen come with premium, sport, and nav packages). when you look at that, its like damn, so much potential for so little money.

So sad to see your car gone Mehdi. You should have kept the A/C and bought the Porsche. That's what Imma do when I get my next car soon ("Exotic" :naughty: ). I can't let go of the A/C bruh. It was the first model A/C ever made in the world 08. Well what to say, but enjoy the new car (It's sexy looking), don't be a stranger and don't get speeding tickets :nono: .

damn mehdi didn't see this one coming.... you're the most active A/C member lol. I didn't even know you like mid-engined 2 seaters, you always talk about your euro hatchbacks and such, this is worlds apart.

also it is bad enough brian already calls you Mendi, and now you own a chick's car :P hehe j/k

Congrats tho! Great upgrade man. enjoy the hell out of it. Bringing it to Carlisle? And if you do, then we can do some rivaling if you catch my drift :naughty:

Very Nice Mehdi! I actually drove one last year when I was purchasing my wife's MDX. It was an 07 Black Cayman S with less than 4K miles on it 6MT. They were only asking $40K for it but when I took it out, I was surprised that it wasn't as responsive as the coupe and to me it was dog slow. I came out of the car very disappointed but that's me. Nice car none the less and as long as you like it that's all it matters. Better not be a stranger..

Wow, i must agree with everyone else that this is shocking, i thought it was april 1st for a second. It's gonna be weird to open up a thread now and not see mcheddadi actively posting in there. Congratulations and good luck with the new car.

thanks!

About that black CS you drove, maybe it was standard Cayman and not a S one...

by responsive do you mean light weight steering? the AC does has tons of powersteering compared to a cayman, maybe thats why It seemed less "responsive" to inputs on straight US roads... Also I'm amazed you found it dog slow since it weights 300pounds less than the A/C and is more powerfull. I'm disappointed that your test drive gave you that negative impression. I took mine out and the steering feel is amazing. I have never been more connected to the road. The continually two mode adjustable suspension works wonders to remove the bumps on the roads while giving a perfectly flat comfortable ride and all that on 265/35/19 rear tires! the power delivery is what I find the most impressive in this car so surely there must have been something wrong with your tester. I really hope I can bring it to Carlisle so I can give you a real test drive :naughty:

Nope it was an S and it was all black with red leather interior and red calipers. The guy offered me 32 for my coupe as a trade so I seriously thought about it. Took it out for a spin (about 15 min) and came back and was unfortunately unimpressed. The steering was second to none, I agree with you there. The off line and cruising at 45mph then dropping it down a gear and stepping on it was not like the coupe. Maybe my expectations were too high and thus let down when I drove it but to me I wasn't too impressed with it. But like I said, the cayman S is sweet looking and I'm sure you will be having fun with it. Def. better on the track than the AC that's for sure! :yesnod

Damn, I leave for a week and haven't look at the site for a while and come back to this. I am blown away and jealous. Damn that's a sexy car, a little feminine but I wouldn't kick it out of my garage.

Nice!
