I got a bit excited over my recent success in selling my work and thought somebody might enjoy it.

Guess I expected too much.

Bulldog does some damn nice PSed pics, and he doesn't charge, that is kinda lame IMHO. If you can't post even a sample pic, then why post anything. I do my own PS images, and am beyond happy with my abilities.

The only reason is because I'm actually selling them. If somebody comes online, copies it and goes to Kinkos, that sucks for me.

I'm just protecting my intellectual property. Plus, this is stuff I'm putting into my portfolio for my advertising career.

Either way, I've gotten some good responses, so look for the invite sometime around 2pm EST Tomorrow, Friday October 12.

Thanks for those who are showing some good support!

it's called "proof" or "sample" photos. Did you ever have those in high school, or maybe at your wedding?

i think its cool you're doing what you are doing..but why would you charge to PS parts on a car..that aren't actually on it..other than the fact that you want to see what your car might look like with a part on it..it just doesn't make sense to me...i don't see why people would buy them though.

I don't add parts to a car, I give a new perspective on the vehicle. It's interesting at the very least. A friend of mine hired me to do a photo shoot with his car and edit everything the way i've done with my car, and I'll have his stuff up on the website I'm in the works of creating!

It's just that I'm just getting into the professional side of things, and I want to start off strong.

If you have to get an invitation, it makes it seem a little more exclusive...

...PLUS, as an Advertising agent, I know what the importance of making a product "mysterious" and "unknown"

Look. If you don't care, then don't care. That's fine, but there are a few people who have already emailed me, so I'm pretty excited about getting some public opinion on the work. Good or Bad, I have to know before I start doing the final touches and submitting them to a few places I have already spoken to.

This is a way for me to know if I should pursue, or just drop it.

It seems you answered your own question regarding about pursing this venture.. if you have already sold your work then no reason not to expand on it, like most of us on here we want to grow and move on to bigger and better.. nothing ventured nothing gained..

But one thing though bro.. being that this is a service your trying to sell to members you might want to send the mods. a copy or sample of your work to display on the site with a fee listing as well given the nature of your service..

It just having good forum etiqutte..

as a photographer and graphic designer i have to say...

this guy is totally nuts.

people put their "intellectual property" out there all the time.... if theyre worried about it they put a "watermark" on the image - ie: the images all have a logo or name imposed faintly across the image. see http://www.pittsburghskyline.com for AMAZING images, complete with digital watermarks!

this smells like a scam to me.

That was my point exactly, I do that to most all of my photos. Nobody in their right mind pays for PSed pics.

also me as a DJ, when you are just getting into something, in your case photography, and want to get your name out there, you don't charge for it, no one in there right mind is going to pay for it, now people pay big bux for works from Da Vinci and Picasso, because they are well known. As a DJ, when you are not known, you give out mix CD's for free so that people can listen to them and tell others what they think, if you start getting more and more people liking and wanting mixes, THEN you start charging to mix CDs up, and eventually if you give the mix to the right person and it gets to the radio or producers, THEN you will make big bux!!!!
