I am considering a set of 8 BWD's for my 94. I have scoured this site as well as the net but don't see any recent posts on how the BWD's are working out for those using them. Guys, If you are using BWD's please post a comment,
Thanks
David

I have installed BWD injectors in the past and would do so again if I had to. BWD is a great brand and makes outstanding product. Wouldn't think it twice. Hope this helps! :bigthumb:

The ones I used were BWD 57676 for a 94 model. I can't find enough information about FJ283 or FJ284 to draw a conclusion.

Did you contact Deatschwerks.com in OKC? I think DW remarkets BWD injectors. I noticed some members get a good price on BWD injectors from DW.

Did a little more research, FJ284 is the Standard Motor products part number for BWD 57676. Same company/Same website. looks like different branding for different retailers.

Thanks guys.

Hi David,

I am parting out my Q45 and I have a set of Deatshwerks injectors that are a few years old but have low miles I am looking to sell them I would like to get about $450 for the set I have the box that they came in. I bought a set of 8 rebuilt injectors when I got the car 4 years ago and they started to go bad in less than a year so I bought the Deatshwerks set and they are ok I also got the brackes to make them fit in my 92.

Thanks Dana

I can vouch for Deatshwerks. My injectors have seen over 100k miles of thorough abuse and they are still flawless

Mine are still working fine. Installed in 2008 but not many miles in service... maybe 10K?

My ebay injectors arrived to today. seller claimed BWD/SMP with photo of purple top.

I received 8 new injectors, no packaging.
Grey Tops
Part number A46-f36. Made in Japan JECS mark on the side
They look new, no sign of wear, no smell of gas, paper sticker on connector says "B"
Ohm test 11.3 ohms

A google search including Nico list a post that someone pulled an injector with the same part number out of a 94 Q45.
Can anyone ID this injector, it does look identical the BWD part for the 94 Q45.
I will be calling bwd in the morning and have emailed the seller asking for proof.

thanks
David

JECS was a joint venture between Nissan and Bosch. The abbreviation was for Japan Electrical Control Systems. From what I can tell they were bought out in 2002 by Hitachi, but are still a major supplier to Nissan.

Here's an ebay listing that shows that same marking on the top of a used injector.

I'd be a little concerned that you're getting "remanufactured" (aka cleaned) used injectors, but you've seen the packaging and have a better idea about that...

Yes, I had my doubts. The ebay seller immediately agreed to take the JECS injectors back and promised he would send me "New" ones. So I sent them back today. We shall see......

Update,
The Ebay seller refunded my payment. They offered to ship another set, but not interested. I picked up a set of SMP FJ284 from Rock Auto for $57 each, still a good price. SMP is the same as BWD, just a different box. They arrived in factory packaging, definitely brand new. They get installed next week.

Bill Johnston of www.mrinjector.us will refurbish your injectors with new seals after cleaning them and flow testing them. Not only that, he will pressure check them unlike some others who advertise on this board.

All for much less than $57 per injector.

I've got a local guy who can do the same, but thats not why these failed. The coils failed presumbably due to ethanol degredation. You can't re-build the coils. So the long term solution would be replace all 8 injectors with NEW or roll the dice on replacing them as they fail.

You're preaching to the choir on injectors. Replacing all 8 of course is the best route. Refurbishing failed injectors will certainly lead you back to the same route. Your injectors failed due to ethanol as you are aware. With first hand experience my DW injectors have seen over 120k miles with no flaws while running gas with ethanol and no gas tank treatments. If you are trying to save a couple of bucks on refurbished injectors or different sources I suggest not. Honestly I would make an offer to dana0330 on the DW injectors. That is a steal for 8 of those injectors.

Coils? Coils failing on this version are few and far between. I am guessing you meant to say injectors.

I bought a set from Rock Auto they did not last when they say they rebuild them they make them look new put the problem is the plastic on the coils melt because of the alcohol in the fuel, and most of the rebuilt injectors are still bad. I bought the DW injectors because they can withstand the alcohol in the fuel. I had to learn the hard way and bought 2 sets.

I picked up the car from the shop today. They mechanic was an independent recommended by Felton's (used Infiniti parts) in Lake Stevens, WA.

They did:
Injectors
Knock sensors and harness
both valve cover gaskets
spark plugs
fuel filter
upper radiator hose
(all other hoses in great shape)

all for their quote of 8 hours labor.

The car is running great.
Thanks everyone for your help and comments,
David
