Buzzing or humming from engine

1996 240sx se 5spd... with injen cold air intake ....when I installed the intake there was hose that connected to the intake when i connected it, it was too long and so it kinked and made my car turn off when i would turn it on... so i would have to hold down the gas... well i cut it and re attached and now it starts up fine... but sine around the same time as i fixed it i have been hearing this strange buzz or hum from the engine ONLY in the 3500 to 4000 rpm range... and when you cross the 4000 line it stops... mmmmm im dumbfounded so ANY help would be appreciated thanks alot guys!!

Are you talking about the sucking noise that an aftermaket intake makes when it draws in ambient air?

Its proabably the aftermarket intake, the intake is usually louder and makes that kind of noise compared the stock intake.

haha...sry i know the sound of the intake ... and this is deffinately Not that sound... its a buzzing not avrrrrrrmmmmm... or the suction sound either.... and its ONLY from 3500 to 4000 its strange right after 4000 it stops ....hmmmm

bump for same problem i think its vibration inside of the car possibley from the intake and exhaust on my car
