Buzzing noise

New noise just popped up.

When I plug my mp3 player into my radio and play it, and turn on my headlights there is a low but really irritating buzzing sound that happens.

I seem to remember it coming from the front of my dash, but I would have to go out into the cold to confirm that right now, and I ain't doing that tonite. Will double check tomorrow morning when I have to be out there anyway.

any thoughts?

Where is your cell phone?If my cell phone is sitting close to my ipod or radio it causes a low Buzz.

Try a different cord, move the location of the mp3 player, try to see if you can isolate all or part of the problem.

hmmm... good thoughts.usually my cell phone is in the little storage space above the radio, but it is almost always turned off. would that make a difference I wonder?

it's weird because the noise stops when I turn my headlights off. guess I don't get to listen to my mp3 player at night. which is usually when I am in my car.

Sounds like there is some kind of interference in the wiring. Do you have an aftermarket deck?

It could just be electrical interference from the wiring for the lighting inside the dash running too close to the audio wire that you have plugged into the aux input.

Try moving the wire, especially if you have it running under dash panels and such, or try a new cable. Is it a high quality cable, or a cheap ebay one?

it's just something I bought at target to plug my player into the radio. it kind of just hangs there.

radio is the one that came with the car.

I will try moving the wire around. maybe I can tuck it somewhere else....
