i just installed my S13 VLSD (180sx) and J30 axles yesterday. all went well, everything works correctly, but i notice a slight buzzing coming from the rear on decel. it's not real loud, but noticable.

the rear is filled with 1 bottle of LSD additive and Mobil1 gear oil (forget the weight at the moment, i think 70w-90). everything is tight and like i said works well, and i've noticed a buzzing on other cars as well on decel with an LSD, just wondering if it's normal or if i need to say realign something?

TIA:D

i'll take that as "it's perfectly normal". my last car made hellatious buzzing on decel, but it had very badly worn out diff mounting bushings (this was a chrysler conquest, not a 240) and between the lightened flywheel, beat up bushings, and solid short throw shifter it was a ***** when coasting in gear.

Mine doesn't make any noticable noise at all. Hmmm...? But just to let you know, VLSDs are sealed units therefore they dont need any special oil additive. Clutch type LSDs however do need the additive (ie. KAAZ) So save some money in the future and leave out the LSD additive :)

oh well on the additive, it was cheaper than the oil anyway and i'm sure can't hurt it:D
