Hi to all the lovely nico people.
ive bought another s13 recently which was parked up like in a shed for about 3-4yrs but started fine & ran pretty good although it had the minor niggly bits like needing new plugs, oil, filter etc but drove it home carefully.......
& the next day after starting it & reversing slightly...... my brake pedal goes solid
as a rock,
the brakes were ok when driving back as they were'nt sticking or anything but earlier when reversing i could feel resistance in the n/s wheel as the brakes "grabbing" like the calipers seized or somewhat....
My beast-to-be has abs which worked fine but now whenever i brake the pedal is solid-rock - it takes a lot of pushing to make the car stop & if i brake too hard n/s tyre'll lock causing it to skid towards the left.
one things for sure my n/s calipers seized so will remove that today but...... would that cause my ABS pump to start buzzing? I mean buzzing from when i switch the key on, & when its started but it dont buzz when i switch the car off.
would i be looking at a new abs pump along with the caliper or would the cleaning or replacing the caliper/s stop the abs pump from buzzing.
The abs were'nt buzzing when i drove the car home for around 8km brakes were fine.
things checked:
Brake fluid - all there a bit muggy but am replacing today
no leaks anywhere.
booster vac pipe all good & working ok
Replaced relays off another s13 but the buzzing was still there & i kw for damn sure the other relays are good.
could it be the abs pump seizing up causing it the buzzing & the hard pedal...... like if one calipers seized the others are ok so the abs could work on the other 3 ???
but the hard pedal is a damn mystery
