Ok i have a 95 240sx SE with the 4 6 1/2s and the 2 TWs in the A pillers. I got a new head unit put in and now when i turn in up a bit i get this hummin like under the music and want to know how to make it stop. Is this cuz of the amp from nissan?? do i need to buy a need aftermarket amp or can i just run all my stuff off the deck??

Let me know PLEASE:help

Did the shop utilize a line level converter to interface with your Nissan amp? Was this a Bose system?

Sounds like some from of impedance interferrance between the head and the factory amp.

Without knowing what they did, it is kinda difficult to troubleshoot. If it is not engine noise, it has to be from either the line out from the HU or the amp. If they simply took the outputs from the HU and spliced them into the amp inputs, that is probably the problem (I have seen people do worse).

It could be a cold solder or something could be wrong with the on board chip amp in the headunit, but I doubt it. But like audtatious said, if they did not bypass the factory amps, thats probably it. When you get installation for free, those places have installers that get paid squat. Good installers with experience dont make that mistake. The mistake to work for peanuts and the mistake to not bypass the factory amps. The saying goes... you get what you pay for. Installs are what make or break the system. Call the place that you got it put in and tell them what is goin on. Then go from there.
