I'm thinking of purchasing a used ('03 to '05) 350Z, however I'm not exactly sure what to look for. When thinking of this car, the first thing that comes to mind is that the owner probably pushed it to its limits quite often, so I'm unsure how to check for that. Also, how long does the average Z last km-wise?

Overall, I guess I'm unsure about how to approach buying a used car, and if anyone here went through this process, I'd much appreciate some help. Thank you.

Serb.

Best thing to do is have a mechanic go with you to look it over, since you're not sure what you're looking for. Hopefully you have one in the family that will help.

Also try to find an 04.5 or an 05, that is when they upgraded the manual transmissions.........if you're looking for a manual transmission.

It would probably be easier to just get an 05 because then you know that the transmission was upgraded and you don't have to worry about looking for all the little tell tale signs that its an 04.5

One other thing to do is to research which model you want (ex. base, touring, track etc). Remember what those models have that the others do not and make sure to look for those features (ex. cruise control, brembo brakes etc) because some dealers will try to charge you more than the car is worth under the misconception that it has a different options package than it actually does.
