Hey. I know I ask A TON of questions.. but I wanna do everything I do CORRECTLY so I consult u guys. So thanks for hte help. That being said.. where can I get spacers for my wheels. I'm gonna get them installed next week. They are 18' with a 45 offset. Tires are 225/45/18 in size. Bolt pattern obviously 5x114.3. I wanna have the wheels sit directly under the fender (flush?) I think it looks the best. So here are the quetsions: Where can I get spacers? What damage do I risk on the bolts or wheels or car by putting spacers? Can I drop with this setup? Thanks guys.

Just letting you know, I have 18x8 +45 w/7mm spacers, I think. Or was it 8mm? It's been so long that I forgot. Anyways, i'm almost flush, but not quite. I'm pretty sure 10mm would get you out to where you want to be, but it's not going to be safe. A good rule of thumb is not to go over 5mm to keep your vehicle safe. The farther you go outward, the more stress load you put on your studs. I went above this just because I wanted to. I haven't noticed any vibrations or any other side effects with my set-up.

Oh wait. My offset comes +38. Is that gonna be a problem on the lugs or the car?

That won't be a problem. The problem with thicker spacers is that the back of the wheel sits further out on the studs, putting more stress on a weaker part (the closer to the base, the stronger the studs are). With a +38 offset, your wheels will be sticking further out than with a +45 offset, and the load will be placed in the same spot (regardless of offset). My suggestion would be to install the wheels first, then drop the car and get an alignment. After you've done that, see how things flush up, and if you need spacers then get them. You can buy spacers from ebay, and your wheel shop should be able to get them too. Spacers are easy to install, just take the wheel off, slip it on over the studs, and put the wheel back on.

We generally are lol. We have interesting conversations. So do you think +38. no spacers will be a problem for a drop or for lugs?

Yeah, being in the same time zone helps. There won't be a problem with the lugs, that mainly happens with thicker spacers; so no need to worry with a 5mm spacer. As far as a problem for the drop, it depends on how wide the tire is. The stock tires on the Altima Coupe are 215 mm wide, if you go with something like a 245, then you might have a problem. Something you can always consider is getting a narrower tire and having it stretched to fit the rim, but you won't need to do that. (Stretching the tire will give you a little more room to play with. For instance, if you are running a 9" wide rim, and put on a 235 tire, its going to be a little stretched, and the extra space might just be enough to give you the clearance needed.) Now, your tires are 225/45/18, and I'm going to assume that your rim is 18X8. They will sit 5mm further out than stock with the 45mm offset, 10mm further out than stock with a 5mm spacer, and 12mm further out than stock with a 7mm spacer. So, with out a spacer, you won't have a problem, with a 5mm spacer, you probably won't have a problem, and with a 7mm spacer, you might be rubbing a little since the tire will be about 1/2 an inch further out than stock. Like I said before, your best bet would be to install the rims and springs, then see how much space you have between the outer edge of the tire and the inner edge of the fender. The guys at the shop should be able to accurately tell you if you will have an issue with a spacer or not. (By the way, a +38mm offset is the essentially the same as a +45mm with a 7mm spacer)

That's true. Florida and NJ .. Well I won't be doing a 45 offset bc the offset is 38.. the wheels are coming today or tomorrow so I'll be certain by then. If it's 38 then def no spacers. if 45 then ill be doing 5mm spacers. I don't want any rubbing so if its +38 I think I'll stay away from a drop so I don't rub. If I install the rims at a shop (since i dont have the proper tools).. will they be able to tell me if a drop will cause problems? Bc i dont wanna have to install hte springs.. have the tires rub.. uninstall them and reinstall the stock ones. Thats a big waste of money..

The shop SHOULD be able to tell you if you will rub. But, just because they say you won't, you still might have a problem. The only way to find out for sure is, of course, by putting it all on and going for a drive.
