Buying S13 Moonroof Latch

I'm looking for an S13 moonroof / sunroof latch, as mine finally broke as I was driving on the freeway.

I got a new one recently at the dealership. It was $100 or something, but worth it for a brand new one. I won't have to worry about it breaking anytime soon.

Gah that's a bit pricy for just a plastic latch. hmm.

Well my moonroof kept falling down and slamming shut every time I go over a big bump. I tried the junkyard but every single one was taken already.

I'll just deal with the whistling until i snatch a cheap one.

Is there a big difference with a new oem one?

ive got mine from a nissan stanza at the yard, and it was free!!

i hate puns...lol...i don't think 100 bucks is worth that part. you should wait for WC to see if he has one or look in the classifieds or try the junkyards some other time.

yeah it was a direct bolt on bro!! i know there are some old infinities that have them too. the best thing to do, just take ur latch to the yard and look for the one that looks like it, thats what i did. Good luck :P

Ummm well White Comet I'll definitely deal with you if I can't find one at the junkyard again.

I'll also look into the stanzas and Infiniti's as dsastr stated. It's so irritating having the sunroof bounce up and down all the time.

So weee I finally found a good working one that I pulled off a Stanza. Both the latches are identical nonetheless. it's just a hassle attaching it on.

lol my latch just broke too but i just used some zip ties on it to keep it shut till i get to go the yard

I paid 2 bucks to get in and stuck the latch in my pockets and walked out.

i think nissan used the same latch in the hardbody-looking pathfinder.
