Okay, so I've been looking for a while and I found a G35 that is for sale on a different forum (G35driver). The car is in Texas, and I was curious if anyone had any tips on possibly purchasing a car out of state from an individual.

My plans as of now are to contact his local dealership and have them do an inspection/check over on the car and give me the full bill of health. If it passes their inspection then I figured I could have our banks take care of the financial aspects of the purchase and just have the car shipped.

He's been very good about answering all my questions and sending me the things I ask for.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nice looking car. Other than having the local Infiniti dealership look at it and having all the service records pulled I'm not sure what else you could do without seeing and driving the car personally. As the owner is active on forums I would search his posts on that site, and others if he uses the same name, to see if he has posted any negative issues with the car or has shown things that could lead you to think it's been abused or not, including checking youtube.

Otherwise the only thing I could think of was getting an extended warranty for some additional peace of mind.

Thanks for the advice. Because its so far away, I'm sort of hesitant to even follow through with any of it. Flying to see it in person is so expensive and just to have the dealership look at it is kinda pricey too. Driving the car is pretty critical IMO when it comes to purchasing a car, so I'm rethinking the situation. And I've told myself in the past, if you feel uneasy, then don't buy it....so maybe I should take my own advise.

Plus I look at G37's and that's what I really want, so maybe it in my best interest to buy a cheap 240 or something that I can daily for a year or two while I save up for what I really want.

Sorry to be so lengthy in my response. I'm kinda just venting out my thoughts
