Sorry for the abrupt responses, but in short, that car (even in good running condition) is worth ~$2,000, maybe a little more if they're real >15" BBS wheels.

A good running Q with that many miles and a good/known maintenance history still wouldn't be worth $4k ... BUT if the AV equipment is of significant value to you, then that's your call.

Keep in mind these are GREAT cars with bad resale values, so if you drop $4k on that car, don't ever expect to sell it and get any significant amount of your purchase price back.

4K dollars is a rip off, move on. Rear brake pads are 60 bux with sensors, injectors are bout 75 bux for all 4 on Ebay off a SR20DET in good shape. Depending on which injectors are bad, it could be a very eassy or semi painfull repair. Then you need to find a mechanic knowledgable bout VH45s, I thought bout selling my Q with new head gaskets, OEM radiator, all new hoses, injectors, knock sensors, MAF, oxygen sensors, exhaust system, lowering springs with Tokico shocks, new suspension components and 18" wheels for 6K dollars with only 113K miles.... but I think I will keep it. Its going to be like a new car in bout a month

Doesn't apply here - the object in question is not for sale on NICO's forums, and the individual asked for ADVICE on the purchase.

dgeorge_c thanks for looking out for a new guy. As stated by a couple others, that is a BST rule, and this gentleman came in asking for advice.

Now, how the advice was handed out, could ahev been better, but the point is, $4k, is too much for that Q, unless he's ONLY interested in the AV stuff.

Well the good news is that you're looking at the correct model of car. 93 Q seem to have the best of both worlds. with over 200K the chain guides have probably been addressed. But I think everyone feels you may be able to talk the seller down on his asking price. I would start with determining the blue book value. Then I would account for every single repair the car will need to come up to YOUR standards. And I am not talking about simply how much it will take to get it on the road. Now you will have a better idea of how much this car will really cost. If you are still in the dark, then keep returning to this site and you WILL find your answers. Also you will find as you systematically approach this purchase you will find more focused questions and subsequently will recieve more concise answers.Good Luck, sounds like you already love this car

Well said, but I'll offer that Jesda's Q ran way up into the high 100k's without having the guuides done, and was HAPPY when he did them as there pieces in the lower section.

Never assume on a 1993 or earlier VH45DE. Always verifiy.

I changed my guides at 186k Pieces of plastic were sitting there. It was frightening. CherryPoppinQ45's 94 Q has a lot of new parts. Its worth looking at.

Also look at 90Q45Blue's FREAKING SWEET silver 91 Q45. I think he's asking $5700? The engine only has something ike 40k on it. Mechanically its the newest old Q on NICO.

Rsiwicki's car is insanely beautiful and one of the quickest naturally aspirated Qs on NICO.

You just missed out on mine, which I sold for half its value at $950.

Its easy to get excited about a Q45. You get sucked in by the beauty and performance and you forget about book values, deferred maintenance, and chain guides.
