Unnatural auto in Beaverton, OR has some of the best 240s pass through ive seen. http://www.unnatural.com

my clutch went out about 2 weeks ago and had to be flat bedded back to my garage. the owner of unnatural said he would bring a trailer to come get it and we'll start on a clutch

he gave me an estimate of 605 with i believe stage 2 clutch/ resurfaced flywheel and labor. my car is a stock 1990 240 and other shops are telling me i should go stage 1. shop owner suggests stage 2

opinions on an exedy stage 2?stage 1 vs 2?

If you plan to stay below 250hp keep stage one. Above it go stage 2. The mechanic is trying to make some money with the stage 2. I believe the number is 250 but if its a stock motor you just need a stage 1.

well the reason me and him were thinking stage 2 was the fact that i have to replace the clutch now and right after i replace it im adding horsepower.

i dont wanna add a stage 2 if im gonna buy parts soon to build that horsepower

what will it take?

ok 'adding horsepower' is undefinitive. Are you getting a motor swap? Bolt Ons? Small things like intakes, full exhaust, and tweaks aren't gonna do much. Get a stage 2 if you are doing more than that.
