I've owned an M35 for almost 7 years now and am buying a used M37X. I took it for a test drive and it had a bad wheel bearing so the dealer has fixed that. I'll be taking it for another test drive in the morning and, if I buy the car, I already have an appointment with the Infiniti dealer to check the car out (I have 5 days to bring it back). The car has less than 30,000 miles so I'm a bit worried that it already had a bad wheel bearing. I know these things can happen but my car has 180,000 miles without any major faults. So a few questions:

Is there anything specific to the M37 I should look for?

Anything specific for AWD?

Is the 2013 model known for being any less reliable than any other year? The car has was fewer miles than my current one did when I bought it.

I intend to check the wheels for any damage (including the spare) in case this thing hit a curb and that caused the wheel bearing issue. I'll also look under it but I don't really expect to see anything either way. Carfax said there were no reports but not everyone reports them.

i own a 2013 and have had no issues. This was similar to the 5 or 6 previous Infinity's i have owned. I like the change from the m35x and find this to be more like my previous Q45 . Sorry this is a "one off one guys" story i don't know the whole picture regarding reliability but the articals i read in consumer reports indicate this model is very reliable.

I have a 2013 M37 Sport that I got with about 52k on the odometer. Now at almost 69,000 miles. I previously had a 2006 M45 - man, I loved that car!!
I had some electrical issues, but attribute that to probably blowing a BCM or other module putting in LEDs (these cars are very particular about electronic stuff, so when doing anything electrical, even as simple as putting in an LED bulb, remove the negative cable from the battery)

Other than that, the car has been mechanically sound. The VQ37VHR is pretty rock solid.
When I was looking, pretty sure from 2011-2014 years were overall pretty good. 2014 got a name change to the Q70, but car essentially the same. 2015 was the new body style.
Not sure about the reliability of the all wheel drive models, but still should be pretty good.

I had a wheel bearing go bad on my M45, can't remember at what mileage though. It wasn't too bad to swap out, hardest part was getting the old hub out - had to pound forever, use a gallon of penetrating oil, and eventually a pry bar for some slight wiggle room to get things finally going....

Just get an extended warranty (Infiniti Elite) and rest assured, you'll be covered if anything goes wrong for the next couple of years.

Well I bought the car. The test drive went well after they replaced the wheel bearing. I have 5 days to take it back and I plan to take it to the Infiniti dealer to get it checked out before then, just to be sure. But I've spent a few hours behind the wheel already and it seems fine.

My previous car was a 2006 as well and I never had any trouble out of it except for the cam position sensor. It never left me stranded, but it did light up the dash a few times and eventually killed the engine at a stop sign. The dealer replaced it under a TB or recall, don't recall which, at no cost. And I must have had over 150,000 miles on it by then. The fact that the 2013 needed a wheel bearing already worried me. But I checked under the car and all 4 wheels and there's no indication of impact.

A couple of quick observations. The back up camera in my 2006 was definitely clearer than the 2013, which kind of surprised me. The 2013 does seem to see better in the dark. If that was a deliberate trade-off then I'm ok with it since the previous car didn't see in the dark well at all. Between the 50 extra hp and the 7 speed transmission this thing is definitely faster. It also clearly gets better mileage, even with the AWD. The paint, at least on the front bumper, flakes off much too easy. Much easier than the paint on the other car. Sadly, I've bumped the frame around the garage with both cars now and the 2006 barely had a mark on it, even though I hit it pretty hard, twice. The 2013 I barely touched the wall (didn't even leave a mark on the wall) and a whole bunch of paint flaked right off. I hope the whole rest of the car isn't like that.

My main reason for getting this car in particular was the technology package. The blind sport warning, lane departure warning and auto cruise control are really neat, and work as well as can be expected (lane departure has a little trouble on certain roads that have curves and rises, as one would expect). The car also came with a deluxe touring package which I was not looking for, but man is it nice. I could ride in this thing all day. Not real sure the stereo is any better but the seats are awesome.

Where do you go to get a price for the Infiniti Elite insurance? I got an extended warranty at the dealer that seemed pretty fair but I can drop it at any time. It's for 100,000 miles and the car has less than 30,000 (still under factory warranty) so I'd be covered for 70,000 miles.

The best prices seem to be either with:
Infiniti of Scottsdale: Courtney was who I corresponded with a few months ago
(about a hair cheaper than Circle by about $50-100 depending on length/mileage and deductible)

AND

Circle Infiniti of NJ: Sherry Horelick was who gave me my quote
