Y would OSI be interested in military members racing? I gave up hijacking trucks with my friends and our civics with green neon under kits years ago.

The military takes it very seriously. They have a standing order last time I heard barring air force guys on Okinawa from even participating in events on closed courses. They do stings out at the street racing spots as well. I don't know about mainland but on Okinawa, if you roll a Y plate ,you are being watched.

well thats a hole bucket of ghey!! who has any right to tell me what I can and can't do as long as its not illegal, or putting anyone in harms way. I'm here on the main land, and when I first came here I had to go through mad breifings because I showed up with a couple of sportbikes, scuba license and a Class A skydiving license. Thats what they have the risk asssseesssmmeentt thing for I thought......I guess if your not at work, you are required to stay in your dorm/house and wait for a recall!!

I'll tell you what that recruiter didn't. You are equipment and they own you. They can and will control any facet of your life that they deem necessary. Even as a civilian they can pressure me by threatening to pull my SOFA status or bar me from base so I cannot work. I got locked down early this year along with all the active duty people with no recourse and I have been out of the Corps for 10 years.

thats absolute garbage...I'd say its time for you to put in for a PCS!

I'll be honest, I requested this assignment strictly for the culture, lifestyle, and all the auto sports/snowboarding Japan has to offer, if the tell me I can't enjoy those fruits of life, then I'd of never came here in the first place, and if they tell us that now "which I found out they banned gymkana from base" then I'll take a short tour and get my A$$ out of here....and I'm still in the process of trying to figure out how Im going to take a car back with me...don't worry, I'm not going to try and take a skyline back, I have plenty of friends in the states that have them so I'm not going to be like them...I want to take the car I'm about to pick up, a Version 5 STI......now where did I put my tools?.....

I don't know about track days for racing and such, but I do know that there are quite a few military people that meet up at Daikoku Futo. If you're up for about an hour drive or so, maybe more, come on down next Friday night.

I am ex-military and live in Saitama prefecture and make regular trips to Daikoku and I know there are a lot of military/military affiliated people that go there and some usually head out somewhere late at night. I don't know the name or where it is, but I hear stories of things that happen.

I also cruise the highways around Tokyo. If you are ever up for a drive, give me a shout and I'll meet up with you around Tokyo.

Three main Parking Areas are:1. Hakozaki off the C1, highway 6 or highway 9. You can access it from either of those three highways.

2. Shibaura of highway 11 on the Tokyo inbound over Rainbow Bridge.

3. Tatsumi just off the Wangan (Bay Shore Route) Northbound on the exit ramp for highway 9.

If you want to cruise down to Daikoku on Friday night, head for the Rainbow bridge, then take the Wangan southbound for Yokohama. There is a parking area, Oi, just after the first tunnel you go through once you get on the Wangan.

Directions from the Chuo expressway.

Chou expressway towards Shinjuku/Tokyo.Take it all the way in to the C1 and take the left route once you get to the split. Stay on the C1 and you'll see signs for Rainbow bridge. Follow them.

Go across Rainbow bridge and stay in the right lane. You'll have an exit to go either North on the Wangan or South. Take the exit to the right.

Now, you'll be on the Wangan heading towards Yokohama.

Stay on that, go through a tunnel, and about 2 kilometers after that, you'll have Oi Parking area.

Be careful not to take the Oi exit, though. The exit is before the Parking Area entrance.

My peeps knew as soon as my bike was taken out of its shipping crate. my unit saftey rep was there helping me unload stuff, he rides a busa. he saw my bike being unloaded, looked at it, and asked if I actually used my nitrous tanks on my bike or if they were for decaration, then noticed that my bike (with its flawless custom paint) had scraps all on the tip of the exhaust, and the rear tail light has scrap marks from wheelies.....I think he put "too and teu" together?!!? I still to this day don't have all the paper work done to even ride it in this country. If I knew it was harder then bringing a skyline into the states, I would of left it back at home. can you say $1000.00 just for an emissions test, $2-3 hundred for someone to inspect my brakes, then another 600.00 for things I have to do to bring it into compliance. I'm a baller on a budget here, whats a playa to do?
